Sudden Change┊Huening Kai┆彡

The weekend came through rather quickly..but was very painful and we have made zero progress in our journaling project, which is the only class I currently lack in. 

I woke up at 1 pm from binging k-dramas with Chaewon last night, I continue to stay in bed while scrolling through social media, my body refusing to get up. An hour passed, realizing I have plans in a couple of hours.

I did my usual morning routine, dressing in a casual outfit for today.

Shit, I need breakfast. 

I get reminded by my stomach grumbling loudly. I search my kitchen for something to cook but I find my fridge empty, I sigh at the sight of it. I make my way out of the dorm, exiting the building, and walking to the nearest grocery store. 

I grab ingredients and snacks, throwing them into my basket. While browsing around the chips aisle, I spot a specific bag of chips that I've been craving for the past few days. About to reach for it, another hand grabbed it before me noticing it was the last one in stock. I turn to the person with the bag of chips in her hand, who was examining the nutrition facts not sparing a single eye contact towards me.

Is she ignoring me or did she just not notice me?

Her blonde hair tucked behind her ears stuck out to me, she looks like a barbie doll but I can't ignore the feeling of familiarity. She finally spared an eye glance at me, and a look of surprise formed on her face.

"I'm so sorry, did you want this?" Her sweet voice sounding genuine.

"Oh no no, it's okay," I respond, rejecting the bag of chips she was offering. "You got it first anyways."

"I was gonna get it for my brother but you matter more than him, so take it" She hands the bag of chips back to me leaving me no choice but to take it.  

"Thank you so much- Uhm, what's your name?" I ask, awkwardly. 

"Bahiyyih, but you can call me Hiyyih." She smiled pleasantly, a dimple popping on the side of her cheek.

Have I heard of that name before?

"I'm [name]," I smiled back, "Sorry for taking your brother's chips." 

"No need, he's a pain in the ass anyways. Wait- did you say your name was [name]?"

"Yea,"

"I know you! You're one of my brother's college mates!"

"Kai? Huening Kai?" 

"Yea! He's spoken of you before that's why I recognize your name,"

"No wonder you looked so familiar, you two look so much alike but I didn't wanna assume anything," Her face lights up, finding myself comfort in her smile. 

How are they siblings? She's so much more likable.

"I get that a lot," She laughs slightly.

"Anyways, I gotta head my way back. Thank you so much for the chips, I'll repay you when I can." I pass beside her.

"You don't need to, it wasn't for me either. Hope to see you again!" She says before I headed to the register to check out. 

Returning to the empty dorm, since Chaewon is always away during the weekends. I organized the groceries, making myself something to eat because my stomach has been yelling at me ever since I entered the grocery store.

It was about time for Kai and Beomgyu to be at my place to work on the project and I have been dreading it since I woke up.

A knock on the door caught my attention from my phone, I sigh as I get up to open the door, revealing Kai and Beomgyu. Both smiled brainlessly at me, I welcome them into the dorm. They sat around the coffee table in the living room, preparing their laptops and supplies.
