It was my first day back to Oceanside High School, Man I missed this place. There were a couple of new kids around here and a couple of cute boys too. "No" I thought to myself, "Focus on schoolwork Abby." My best friend from last year, Katie, came walking up to me. "Who are you talking to?" she raised an eyebrow "Hmm? Oh...um no one" She gave me one of those I-don't-believe-you looks, but said "Whatever" I quickly changed the subject. "Ready for the first day of school" She grinned and said "Totally" while flipping her hair and walking off. I rushed after her, we both took a deep breath and walked through the giant double doors, students were walking all about teachers were swarming around the teacher's lounge, guides were being assigned to their students and parents were saying their 'Goodbyes' to freshmen.

"Wow" I breathed out. We both went to the front desk, a lady chewing gum loudly and wearing a wig and a lot of makeup looked me up and down "Name" she called out loudly "Abighail, Abighail Mckinney" I said loudly as she did. "Here, this is your schedule locker number and combination, and sweetie learn not to be so loud." I rolled my eyes when she turned away, I checked in and looked over my schedule ELA, Chorus, French, Chemistry, Lunch, History, Trigonometry, and Gym. "It's not that bad," I said to myself. I waited for Katie at the other end of the desk, she came over and we compared locker numbers. "Aww we aren't next to each other like last year!" she yelled. People around the front desk were starting to stare. "It's OK, we still have Chemistry, Gym and French together." She calmed down and said, "Yea" We walked down the hall and parted ways to our lockers, I spun the lock to the right, left then right again, just like I did last year. It wouldn't open. I tried it two more times and it still wouldn't open, there was no one else in the hallway except for Katie, but she was like 50 lockers away. I decided not to shout because they were having a 0 period class right next to my locker.

Aren't I lucky.

I was about to walk to the guidance office when I bumped into something really hard, I thought "Did I just walk into a wall again?!?" Except I didn't think I said it out loud! My eyes were still closed from the shock. I opened them and blinked twice there standing directly in front of me was a guy! Slightly muscular, grey-eyed, dark-haired guy. I was on the ground, my medium length hair was frizzy and I sat there in shock and in awe. "You Ok?" he asked. I couldn't utter a single word. So I just nodded my head very slowly, "I'm soo sorry, I should've been looking where I was going," he ran his hand through his hair and used his free hand to help me up. I nodded my head and said "Thanks," He stared at me for a long time and opened his mouth, but I quickly ran to the bathroom to look at myself, I had an almond-like skin color, light brown eyes and medium-length dark brown hair, I was normal, there wasn't anything special about me, I couldn't nor dance I wasn't good at Art or Sports. I wasn't special like they guy outside. What I saw in the mirror was just plain old me. I smoothed out my tank top and and put on my leather jacket, I took off my shorts and put on the pair of skinny jeans I carried in my bag. They were for emergencies, but this was an emergency.
