Ever heard someone say that they lost themselves in the book that they were reading? Especially the strong and big readers that have described it as having a little movie play inside their head? What if you could actually live in your favorite book?
You may not be able to play the role of your favorite character but you would be able to meet them. Even fight alongside them in their journeys or maybe, just maybe fall in love with them.
Sounds like fun right? Who wouldn't want to go down the rabbit hole or fight on middle earth? It's like every nerds dream. However, I'm pretty sure their dream also involved staying alive and being able to come back to reality.
Well you can. Come back to reality that is. The only way to do so was to survive the book. Make it to the last chapter and see those imaginary words that say "The End" then you were able to come back to your body. Able to live your own real life. If you wanted could go inside another book the next day then you could.
So whether it was fighting a homicidal alien clown or running from amusement park dinosaurs, it was up to you if you wanted to live among the pages. But once you're in, only way out was through. Sure nothing would happen to your body in the sense that if you got an arm cut off in the book world then the same would happen in reality. It just meant that you have to stay alive. Otherwise it was like restarting the level over and over again. No quit or restart button. No changing your mind about the book world.
Personally, I'd rather live amongst the pages. Even if it takes me ages to come. Why live one life, when you could live a thousand?
