(Your POV)*
A bright red maple leaf flew towards me and I watched it fall into my hand. Maple leaves... they were always around when bad things happened in my life. Maybe, let's hope this year will be different.
"Y/n! The Crux is here!"
I looked to the direction of the voice and left my world of imagination. Kageyama was looking towards a large ship and from the ship, a tall woman with an eyepatch and long brown hair walked out with a blonde haired outlander and a flying tiny girl. From the side, a familiar man I recognized as the housekeeper of the Kamisato Estate hopped off a few boxes and walked over to the three.
I waited until the four looked like they were ending their conversation and walked over. "Hello, my name is Y/n. I'm helping Kageyama out today."
"Hey, the name's Beidou, Captain of the Crux! Nice to meet you."
Thoma nodded, as we had already met before and the flying little human squeaked a hello for both herself and the blonde outlander.
"It's a pleasure to meet you all! Captain Beidou, I heard you had brought some medicine on your ship. Do you think I could buy some from you?"
"You could, but we'd need to negotiate the price."
I hesitated with my words. It was no secret that my family did not have much money despite the fact that I worked within the Tenryou Commission. "Of course."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I reached into my bag and dug for the mora I had prepared earlier. The amount I had wasn't enough and I still needed a little more. I had negotiated the price to as low as I could, but alas I am still too broke to afford it.
"Y/n, I told you to bring more mora than you would need. Here you go, Captain!"
"And I thought you were working on a case, detective."
Heizou shrugged and patted my shoulder before leaving again. I bowed and thanked the Captain and left as well.

(??? POV)*
I watched a h/c haired girl bow to the captain and quickly leave, tightly holding a small bottle of pills in her hands. Although I watched from a distance, unable to leave the ship, I could tell she was not as cheerful as she had acted, but it seemed as if no one else noticed. Well besides the Tenryou detective.

(No one's POV)*
Y/n sighed after her mother told her to return the medicine for the 7th time.
"Then, what will happen to you? Mom, just take it. Please."
Her mother aggressively shook her head and pushed the medicine back to Y/n. The woman smiled and held her daughter's hands. She whispered a few words, resulting in Y/n finally giving in. Y/n stood up and looked back at her mother who had laid down again, before leaving.
"She told you to sell it or something, didn't she?"
"I thought you left already, Heizou."
"Hey, I'm a detective. I had a feeling this would happen so I stayed."
"Hmph. Then let's go."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Y/n blankly stared at her pouch of mora after selling the medicine. Her body trembled and Heizou stayed right by her, cheering her up.
"Come on, Y/n. You know you'll get face wrinkles if you're always frowning!"
"Despite being a well-known detective, you sure are full of jokes."
"Of course- ah- Y/n cover for me! That Tengu's coming over."
Y/n watched Heizou run off as Kujou Sara walked over, angrily. The General muttered a few angry words about the "lazy" detective before sighing.
"That Shikanoin, never doing his job properly."
Y/n innocently smiled at the general before the two of them laughed.
"How've you been, Y/n? I've heard you haven't been in the best mood lately."
"Haha... yes, I just found out my mother doesn't have much time left. I can't even stay with her because she keeps forcing me out as well."
"Really? I'm sorry about that."
"Don't worry about it! I'll find a way to spend time with her one way or another."
Sara smiled and offered to head to Uyuu Restaurant to catch up, to which Y/n happily accepted.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"What's... your take on the vision hunt decree?"
Surprised by the question, Y/n questionably looked at Sara while holding a piece of tofu in her chopsticks. Sara looked serious about the question, but continued to eat.
Y/n looked back at her food and placed down her chopsticks. "That's quite a hard question to answer when the general is asking you, you know?"
The general chuckled. "I want you to answer me like I'm a friend, not your superior. It's not like I'm going to tell anyone and make you lose your job."
"I think... the vision hunt decree is unjust. People's ambitions are what keeps them going after all. Well, that might sound a little weird to you since it's not like I have a vision in the first place."
Sara watched her friend take a sip of sake and quickly regret it. It was true. Y/n never had a vision, but she never seemed envious of those that do. After all, even without a vision, she is still a skilled swordsman.
"Not at all, but this is what the shogun decided, so I will continue to follow her even if you decide not to. The Lord of Geo is the one you worship after all."
"Glad you understand."
