chapter 5.5 - caught by the kin

[.....well, do you?.....]

"um i just wanted to try them on! to see how they looked on my hand hah" nancy spoke with a quiver in her voice. it was crystal clear she was nervous to respond to mike's question.
"yeah! and nancy's leg was cold so..." robin started to speak but realised how idiotic she sounded. luckily mike was just as dumb. or so they thought.
"okay. can you unlock the door? i need my walkie" mike crossed his arms.
"oh um yeah of course" nancy reached back to unlock the door and michael took his stuff out, slamming the door once he was done.
"bye nance! bye robin" he said running back to the byers' residence. nancy relaxed in her seat and laid her head up against the headrest.
"thank god" she sighed out.
"i know. i thought for sure we were caught" robin reached out for nancy's hand and nancy took it in carefully.
"honestly i'm surprised mike didn't question us further. he's a smart kid and a curious one" nancy smiled to her girlfriend. 'wait girlfriend?' nancy thought 'or best friend?'
"you okay nance?" robin squeezed her hand to grab nancy's attention back.
"yeah. i'm with you"

"see ya robin!" nancy called out to the blonde who was creeping back to her house. robin heard and immediately turned back around. she raced back up to the car.
"bye nance" she whispered while snaking a hand around nancy's face and holding it gently. robin brought nancy in by her face and kissed her goodbye. the butterflies in nancy's stomach disappeared. she didn't feel nervous or scared, she just felt safe in robin's touch. like she always had.
"bye robin" nancy whispered when they pulled away from each other. robin just smiled and winked at the girl. robin walked back to her house and climbed through her window. nancy just sat watching her do it and was admiring her for everything that she is.

i'm sorry this was short! it's just a little filler chapter haha. to be honest i wasn't going to continue this story because i felt as if it wasn't going where i wanted it to.  but the views have gone up so i may as well continue! i'm also writing two other stories about elmax and one being if sadie sink was your best friend. lmk if u wanna see either!
