Chapter 3.1

Previously: Five turned around, his lips forming a smirk as he laid his eyes on the dirty, blond-haired woman who's standing a few feet away from him.

Five: Hey, long time, no see.

The woman's eyes widen in bewilderment as she saw him, Whispering...

Woman: Oh my God!

Under her breath, as her eyes begun to form tears, and without pausing to think, she rushed over to him and hugged him tightly - as if he would vanish again once she let go.

Woman [in a whisper]: i-I can't believe it! your alive!

Five grinned, before responding with a breathless "Of course, I am" possibly because she was hugging him so firmly that he was having problems breathing. But strangely enough, he doesn't mind. He just embrace her back with the same intensity, as though she would vanish if he let go and then he would find himself back in that horrendous place known as the apocalypse, All alone.

The two of them held each other for a while before the woman finally released the hug just enough to wipe her tears. Then, she tenderly placed both her hands on either side of his face and caressed it gently, appearing to still not believe that five was alive and standing right in front of her.

Five doesn't mind the woman's touch. In fact, he missed it.

She's Zanders' mother and he had grown attached to her over the years he had known her, you could even say that she's the one that five considered as his Mother figure.

Her name is Tessa, she's a kind and caring person and as far as he knew she wasn't Zanders' true mother, being that her last name was Testaburger while Zanders' is Macklin. but still, she took care of him since she found him in an ally when he was six and raised him like he was her own.

Soon, the realization came and questions flooded the woman's head, which she decided to voice.

Tessa: Where have you been, five? What happened? Are you ok? Why do you look so... young?

Five sighed before fully pulling away from the woman's hold.

Five: Well, care to join me for some coffee while I tell you everything?

He said, forcing a smile while putting both his hands inside his pocket as he waited for a reply.

She deserves to at least know where five have been for the past, apparently, 17 years. Given the fact that she might have already known, at least by now, that Five used to be a part of a vigilante kids academy or "Kids Heroes" if you will. Which probably give her the idea that he wasn't normal and one that's considered as extraordinary. And who knows, maybe she might have also read that book Vanya wrote about, not only her life but also his, their siblings, and of course the family trauma, pain, and secrets.

Tessa exhaled contentdly and then grinned.

Tessa: Alright.
