Texas is 25

He is the sheriff of these parts

And he was absolutely stoked

For the first year at least

"Hey Tex... what's wrong?" Tito asked, coming back home to the small apartment he and Texas shared, finding Texas sitting alone in the kitchen with a small glass of whisky. Texas sighed.

"Bruno was right... what am I going to do now?" Texas said, as Tito sat with him.

"Don't you enjoy your job?" Tito asked. Texas sighed.

"When the day ends, I just go home... and just... sit here and wait for you.... I just feel like I don't... I don't contribute anything to this world," Texas said. Tito sighed.

"That's not true... is there anything you can do to help make you feel better? I know when there is a patient I know I can't help, sometimes the greatest thing they need is for someone to hold their hand and talk to them... what do you think?" Tito asked. Texas hummed in thought.

"You're a nurse, Tito... you're basically an angel... heh.... I'm more of a demon, just punishing sinners... everyone sees the badge and scar, and nothing else," Texas said. Tito sighed.

"Make them see something else then," Tito said. Texas nodded silently, letting that sink in.

The next day, Texas was patrolling his city, havin a good ole time. He usually liked driving around the downtown area, because it usually prevented the snobby police from the uptown side from being too quick to deem any innocent guy as a criminal, just because he had the audacity to look 'homeless'. Texas just knew that a lot of those guys worked the high-labor jobs, i.e., the only jobs the rich folk wouldn't steal from them. Other than that, Texas loved how friendly a lot of people were downtown, even if it wasn't towards him.

He noticed a group of young kids playing basketball in an old, unkempt park. The hoop's net was tattered, and the kids had nothing but a small foam dodgeball. However, they seemed to be having the time of their lives. Texas smiled, but it wavered when he noticed the kids didn't seem to have any food other than one bag of chips they were passing around.

Texas parked, and wandered over towards them. He noticed a sign that said 'private property', however he knew that sign had to be super old, because this park had been officially listed as 'public property'. He figured they just didn't bother keeping the place up.

He realized the kids noticed him, especially since they quieted down their laughter, and stopped playing. They snuck glances at him, hoping that he wasn't there to get them in trouble for whatever reason.
