                                  [Max's POV]

It's around 2pm. I'm a few blocks away from my house, I don't want Billy to make fun of me if he sees me fall.

I've been practicing the same trick over and over for a bit over an hour now, I'm getting better at it, it's just taking time. I'm surprised I even have the patience for this shit.

I continue to do the trick a few more times, falling every single time. I get up to do it again, readjusting my skateboard to get back on it. As I jump, I step on the end of the skateboard, my other leg god knows where as I fall and hit the ground. Or what I think was the ground.

I groan, my body hurting from the fall. As I open my eyes I see I'm in fact not on the ground. But on top of a girl, whose also groaning. Shit. Wait. Isn't she that girl with superpowers?

"Oh fuck. I'm sorry- I didn't mean- well I was practicing and I- I'm sorry it was an accident." I say, rambling nervously. The girl isn't responding. She's just staring. I stare back at her confused, to why she isn't blowing my brains out right now.

The position we're in is kind of awkward, but strangely comfortable somehow. My left hand place on her hip, my right slightly above her neck on the ground. Her hands holding my waist, probably there from her attempt at pushing me away as I fell on her. And our legs tangled together, mine scraped from the failed trick I've been doing, and hers covered by jeans.

Finally, she speaks up. "It is...okay."

It's okay?! Okay?! Oh. It's okay. I assumed she'd want to kill me. But, "It's okay." Okay then...

"I'm sorry." I say again. I don't know why I keep apologising. I don't know whether it's because I'm scared or genuinely sorry.

The girl laughs at my words. "I am okay, you do not need to be sorry." She responds, smiling gently.

I blush slightly. Wow. I forgot how pretty she was from last time we met. She has a nice smile.

"Oh, right. Okay. Sorry." I genuinely need to shut the fuck up. Again with the sorry.

She rolls her eyes visibly, still smiling.

We're lay there in awkward silence before I realise. "Oh yeah shit. My bad." I awkwardly get off of her, holding out my hand to help her get up.

She takes it, standing up in front of me. She's not walking away so...did she come here for me?

"Do you need something..?" I ask eventually.

She fiddles with her fingers nodding slightly.

I raise an eyebrow, questioning internally what she would need me for. I thought she hated me? I brush it off and wait for her to speak.
