Sherlock knew for a fact that in Baker Street there was indeed a bakery. He hasn't eaten anything in the pass few days and has decided to try to buy something to nibble on. Something not too big of course.

That's when he remembered a bakery in his street. A place he's never payed attention to in months of living here. It simply wasn't important enough. But today it was important.

Sherlock walked in and the little bell rang to announce his existence. It was a small place with a display of bread and baked sweets and lunches. He was immediately his with the warmth and the smell of fresh bread. The place sustained of yellow-orange and brown colors. He scanned the display with croissants and donuts. There were also muffins.

The cashier showed up and Sherlock payed him no mind. He only noticed him when he welcomed him "Good morning, what can I get you?"

Sherlock looked up at the man. He has blond hair, hazel eyes and a warm smile. Sherlock for moment just stared at the man, unable to look away. He was wearing a uniform with a jumper under it with a name tag John a simple name written on it.

Sherlock took a short breath "anything you recommend?" He asked and the cashier, John glanced at the display before looking back at Sherlock.
"Well it depends what your in the mood for, personally I enjoy the jam muffin. But then again I also love the donuts we have, you can't go wrong with those."

Sherlock just simply nodded. He wondered if he should get Ms Hudson anything as well. He decided that perhaps he should.
"Two jam muffins then please." He stated quickly, the man nodded and he pulled out the paper bag.

"You from here?" He asked politely as he put in one muffin in and then the other. Sherlock shook his head "I simply never came to this bakery." He shrugged.

John chuckled "I've never seen you around the neighborhood then, what's your name?"
Sherlock stared at him for a second before swallowing "Sherlock, Sherlock Holmes."
"I'm John Watson" he tapped his name tag "rarely leave the house I presume?" His voice was teasing. Sherlock felt himself going a little warmer in the fave. "You could say that, I also usually just rush off to Scotland yard." He explained and John's eyebrows went up and Sherlock continued"I'm a consulting detective, I help with crime solving once they are at their lowest." Which is always he wanted to add, but something possessed him to at least try to get John to like him first. John nodded in thought for a moment "good job then?" He assumed and Sherlock nodded.

Johns eyes went up and down Sherlock's body, making him go even more red. "Well you definitely got the detective look." He pointed out and chuckled as he pushed some buttons on the cash register. Sherlock was wearing his coat and a scar, it made him incredibly aware that John was checking out his clothes."Only 4 pounds"

Sherlock handed him the money and took the bag "well have a good day" he decided and he started walking out of there. "You too Mr Holmes!" He heard John shout as the doors closed behind him. The moment he got out he breathed out a breath he didn't know he was holding. The wind flew through his hair as he walked. His face finally felt less warm.

The entire way home he couldn't stop thinking about John. His hair, his eyes, his gentle voice. The man was nice to talk to and Sherlock wondered when he'll visit again.

He pulled out one of the jam muffin and took a bite in thought. It was rather enjoyable.

...

John remained in Sherlock's head since then, whenever he wasn't at Scotland yard or whenever he was bored he'd reimagine their meeting. He made sure to remember it just as it happened in his mind.

He couldn't forget the man at the bakery.

Sherlock came back to the bakery a few days later, Ms Hudson sent him to buy her some bread instead of paying for the wall damage he's made in her apartment. He also promised to buy her those muffins again and that's what he was going to do. He stepped into the bakery once more, it was as warm and cozy as it was days earlier.

John welcomed him right away this time. "Ah Sherlock, good to see you again." He greeted. Sherlock whole face must of gone red and his chest felt tighter. He actually remembered him, what a suprise. He cleared his throat "yes, hello to you too John" he strolled over to the display, trying to hide his unexplained excitement. "I came to buy some plain bread and two more muffins." He stated and John nodded. "On it" he muttered and he pulled out a bag.

"Fun weather we're having" John pointed out as it was in fact raining outside. Which is something Sherlock only noticed when he pointed out. He also noticed that his hair was damped and dripping. He must look proper silly right now Infront of John. "Indeed" he muttered simply. "It's supposed to stop in an hour" John continued "which is the time I get off."

John eyed Sherlock up and down before licking his lips and continuing "same muffins?" He asked as he's already placed the bread In the bag. Sherlock nodded "yes, my landlady and I quit enjoy them."

John smiled warmly "I'm glad to hear so." He placed them in the bag "so out of curiosity, when do you get on and off work?"

Sherlock stared a little blankly at John. No one's really asked him that in his entire life. "Well I usually just show up when they the crime is interesting enough for me to show up. There isn't really a schedule." He explained and John seemed somewhat pleased with that. He handed Sherlock the bag and Sherlock handed him the money. "Say uh" John started "since I'll be finishing in an hour, you wanna grab a coffee? I know a nice place near by." He offered.

Sherlock stared blankly at the man who seemed to now be holding his breath, as if he's as nervous to be around Sherlock as he is around him. He deduced that John is in fact not a murderer, but he was still certain his heart will stop if he's around the man too long. But then again, you only live once.

Sherlock took a deep quite breath "yes, I don't see why not" he said quickly and John seemed pleased once more. "great- okay, you wanna meet here after my shift then?" He pointed out of the bakery onto the rainy street and Sherlock was currently without a single thought in his mind. "Alright" he muttered and John nodded.

"Alright then Sherlock, see you in an hour." John winked at Sherlock who was stunned and possibly looking like a tomato at the moment. He had to drag his feet out of the bakery.

He walked for a while without a single thought, a single distraction. He went to his apartment without any reaction and only when he sat down on his comfy chair is that his brain started working once more. Someone just asked him out. Him. Sherlock.

And it wasn't just anyone, no it was John. Someone who managed to catch Sherlock's eye in the matter of seconds. His mind was running at full speed and panic. He was going to see that Sherlock is an annoying freak, that he's strange and can't socialize about anything normal. He started sounding like Donavon.

In an hour, he thought, he'll meet with John, go to some coffee place, talk, John will decide he doesn't like him, that they both just waisted money and time. Then Sherlock will never be able to eat jam muffins ever again.
