-Ethan's POV-
We were all in the kitchen, Ally, Jer, Evelyn, Zoe, Casey, and I. Turning my head in Ally's direction; I witnessed watching her talk quietly to Casey. As his hands pulled his hair out of his face, I could see the faint blush forming upon his cheeks. I felt this feeling in my stomach, if felt like jealousy, though I quickly looked away from the flirting pair.
Zoe got up and started walking toward the island in the middle of my kitchen. "So," she started off, leaning towards me, a smirk dawned upon her face, "You and Casey?"
I'm sure my face held confusion because at that point, I didn't know what she was talking about. I never had any intimate times with Casey. "What are you talking about?"
"Cut the crap, Ethan." she said, rolling her eyes in my way, "What was that up stairs?"
My eyes widened in fear, how does she know? "Uh..." I started looking around to see if anyone way paying attention to us, "It was nothing."
"But the way you keep looking at him, doesn't seem like its nothing."
I glared daggers at her, "Because," I said louder this time, "Casey is only a friend."
Casey whipped his head in my direction, looking me up and down in the process, "And I never considered you more."

-Casey's POV-
What Ethan said broke me, not literally, but I felt my heart squeeze in pain. I tried to make myself feel neutral about the feelings he had toward me, but it was struggling to get it out. I was suddenly being dragged by Ally into the other room.
Taking one last glance at Ethan, I proceeded into living room, where all of our things are. The thing between me and Ally is that I knew she liked me, since we first met. But, I had only felt a friendly type of love towards her. Not like what I felt with Ethan.
A heard a sharp intake of air, and I gave my attention to her. "So..." she started off, not knowing what to say
"So.... What did you pull me out here for?" I asked, still skeptical about what she was going to do. I'm not going to lie, she's a babe and all, especially with her honey colored hair and her brown eyes specked with gold. But I've never felt that much of an attraction towards her.
"I like you." She blurted out. Her face was suddenly flushed with a deep coat of crimson. "Dear jesus."
I scratched the back of my neck, not knowing what to say to her. Let's just get it over with. "Ally," she looked over at me, with a small amount of hope in her eyes, "I like you and all, but only as a friend."
She looked down and nodded her head in agreement. So I grabbed her chin and whispered, "It's ok, you're still one of the most attractive girls I know." I smiled wide at her; then she pulled back her hair so I could see her eyes again. Her face was dawned with a smile as well, but as soon as we turned around to go back to everyone, I saw Ethan walking up the stairs, pretty fast.
I looked over at Ally, as she made her way back, "Ally, I'll be you guys in a few,"
"Yea, sure." She walked her way to Evelyn's direction.
I made my way up the stairs and into Ethan's room, which was pretty clean. He was laying on his bed, reading the 3rd book in the Divergent series. I walked my way over to his bed and sat the end. He looked over at me for a bit, and turned back to what he was reading.
I got up to close the door, and sat back down without managing to trip on Ethan's school bag. "What's wrong, Ethan?" I asked, my mind swirling with what the outcome would be. I swept my hair out of my face to focus more on him.
"Nothing's wrong, Casey." he looked over, "What did you come here for?" He put the book down and started picking at his nails.
"To talk." I answered so bluntly. Why was Ethan acting like this? What did I do to him? My hands started to get sweating, but I kept my face void of any emotion.
"Then talk, if that's what you intended to do." He spat at me. Surprised, I gave him a glare and shouted, "What the hell are you acting like this?"
He suddenly started to laugh, "Seriously? Why do you always act like an asshole to me? I'm sorry, but you're being hypocritical right now."
"You really want to know why I'm rude to you." I asked my voice picking up a challenging tone.
"Sure, if there is a reason." he said, tilting his head back to get more of a view of me.
"I'm only rude to you because I don't want you to get close. I always end up hurting others and you know that to fucking well." I looked him in his eyes; an amount sympathy was in his eyes, but soon disappeared. "I don't want to get close to you because I only know I'll break you."
"Then why do you care so much for the others?" He said, sitting up in a criss-cross position. "You care for Ally, are you not afraid to lose her?"
"Not as much as I am afraid to lose you." I whispered; barely even hearing myself.
"What?" He said, looking at me with confusion and something else in his eyes that I couldn't detect.
"Nothing," I said, "I'm sorry for acting like a bitch to you honestly, you're the only one in the group that i really know."
Ethan turned around to get something from his bedside, I tried peaking at what it was, but he would cover his body so I couldn't take a glance at it. He turned around and held something out at me; I took it from his hands and opened it.
It was one of my favorite bracelets I lost when we were at camp, a couple months back. Ethan, Jeremy, and a couple other guys shared the cabin with each other, I think I lost it when we were hiking up on the trail. "Thank you, god. Where did you find it?" I looked over at him, a smile stretching out on my face.
"It fell from your wrist when we were climbing up the mountain, I'm sorry I didn't give it to you earlier. I kind of thought it was cute," He said, "the bracelet, I mean."
"I know, I'm sorry for doing all these things between us," I looked down, and back at him again, "But can we start over?"
"Okay." He said, scooting closer to me.
"Okay."
