I often feel tapering icicles around my heart, attempting to pierce every desire that I have ever had in life.

He sighed after expressing his agony. This was perhaps the only thing that every part of him would agree on.

It was all dark, only his eyes were shimmering. Nobody had seen such beautifully shaped glowing eyes. Even the flooding water of the inlet was nothing compared to the charm and depth of his golden eyes.

Suddenly, it all became silent. The water wasn't roaring anymore and neither was his heart. He didn't care as he knew that it was time to go. He had to return to where he belonged. Sadly, his me-time across the River of Elpizo didn't last long and he had to hush his weary heart and soul as always.

He looked even more enchanting as he started murmuring a spell to ensure his quick return. In just a blink of an eye and he vanished, leaving a shuddering gust. The spell worked as he was back in the great hall of Novedad. He didn't really like being there but he had to.

The chosen ones must spend their teen years at Novedad which is the finest school for witchcraft and wizardry. This is where Michael is, feeling haunted and hunted by his own self. He can't really evade the demons of his past, can he?

The world where Michael lives is filled with magic. Every living being is born with a special gift. A magical, supernatural gift that none can replicate. There are thousands of creatures other than humans. Some live in harmony while some do not.

Michael is ...

Mia! Get up!

A sudden knocking on the door along with a sharp voice asking her to get up "brought her back from the fantasy land".

Ahh.. she grunted. What now? She asked angrily.

She got up from her table where she was busy writing her ever-desired fantasy novel. Opening the door, she tried to control her aggression. Her mother, Lydia was at the door. Unlike Mia, Lydia never tries to suppress her anger. She bursted on her for not responding on time and skipping lunch.

Little did she know that her daughter has been diving into a fantasy land. It's true. Writing has always been Mia's escape from harsh reality. Mia's life was also like Michael's. Loads of icicles tapering around her heart all the time. Maybe that's the reason she created Michael and a whole world of magic.

Wait. Did she create it? We'll find out.
