It didn't take long for Aether to figure out what the head of the Shrine Maiden meant when she left the Grand Narukami Shrine.

On the way down Mount Yougou, he tried to translate Yae Miko's words to Paimon. Though the little white-haired fairy tried her utmost best to understand what her friend explained to her, her brain was out of juice after only two minutes.

»So we have to wait till the sun goes down? And then walk past the... That's way too much information!«, Paimon shouted and held her head.

She was starving and it was already late evening. The trip up to the Grand Narukami Shrine took a quarter of the day. The sun already set and painted Narukami in a red-yellow light.

Fortunately, the way downhill was much easier and faster, thanks to Aether's Windglider.

At this moment, they passed by the Kamisato - Estate.

»No, Paimon. We have to wait till the sun rises and go past the ruins that lie in front of the archway.«

He was at his wit's end. He explained the plan...countless times, but his little friend always forgot what to do.

»Ugh, Paimon's hungry, she can't think straight right now!«, she whined.
Someone walked towards them from the direction of Chinju Forest.

»Aether, Paimon what a pleasant surprise!«, the girl said. Her ice-blue hair picked up the golden light of the sunset, creating a mesmerizing spectacle of colors.

»Ayaka!«, Paimon called and flew to meet her. The girl caught her in flight and hugged her friendly.

»Long time not seen.«, said Aether and smiled at her, which caused a faint blush in the girls face. Paimon smirked.

»Hello.«, she answered and smiled. The little fairy tugged at her blue kimono.
»Why is your kimono wet?«

»Oh, no worries. I was training in Chinju Forest to sharpen my fan dance skills.«

This brings back memories. Back when they first met the daughter of the Kamisato Clan, she would perform this particular dance for Aether and Paimon. It was a symbol of everlasting friendship and her sign of gratitude for the day they spent together.

»By the way. What are you two doing here?«, she asked and led Paimon by her hand to Aether. He locked eyes with her and his cheeks got a nuance more red.

»We climbed up Mount Yougou to meet Guuji Yae. Though we received... questionable answers, it was a successful day.«

»So you found the answers you were looking for? Thoma was so bold and told me about your encounter this morning. « She giggled. »Though I must say... Even I don't fully grasp every word that Guuji Yae says, but I enjoy working with her a lot.«

»That's right. You and Yae Miko tend to organize festivals together from time to time, don't you?«, asked Paimon and circled around Ayaka, who nodded as response.

»Sorry if that comes out as rude now...But, do you have something to eat for Paimon? She's been hungry since we went to climb Mount Yougou.«, Aether asked. In addition to that, his companion's tummy grumbled. Ayaka held one hand in front of her mouth and let out a little laugh.

»Of course I do. Please, follow me.«, she said and guided them into her home.

The sun has already set and the courtyard of the estate was brightened by numerous lanterns, which provided a pleasant atmosphere.

Ayaka showed them where they could sit down and disappeared briefly into the house. A short time later, she rejoined them with a pot of fresh tea and her specialty, sweet mochi decorated with a petal, and poured them both a cup.
