For the rest of the school day, Changbin was noticeably attached to Felix- Not that he was complaining- Felix just hasn't let go of his hand since lunch. That was not what Changbin was concerned about; he was used to holding Felix's hand all the time.
What was concerning him was the freckled-boys red-rimmed eyes. Changbin sat in the backseat of his best friend's car. As usual, Chan sat in the passenger seat. They had tried to convince Felix to let go of his hand, but he refused to listen to reason. So Changbin was forced to sit in the middle, as close to the front seat as possible, since Felix refused to let go.
Felix was driving with one hand, the other resting on the center console of his car for Changbin to hold on to. He was analyzing every pore he could seeon his friend's face as if one of them would give him the answer to the question blaring alarms in his mind. The freckled boy did not notice, completely focused on getting them home and caressing his best friend's knuckles.
He loved this car more than his own. The cherry red seats and the sweet and fruity scent of the Strawberry Sponge Cake air freshener in the shape of a heart dangling from the rear-view mirror made him happy. There was a pink card hole punched and strung up next to the heart that Changbin instantly recognized.
The corner of Changbin's mouth twitched up. It was the birthday card he wrote for his best friend a year ago. Felix always told him It was important to keep every heartfelt note he had ever written for him. Changbin knows the rest of them are in his room on his bedside table. Usually, these thoughts would comfort him, but something has to be seriously wrong with Felix.
If Changbin were anyone but Felix's best friend he would have missed the way his eyes were still puffy behind the smoldering look in Felix's eyes. The older was unsure if he should try bringing up the clear evidence that his best friend had been crying when the grave look on his face has been stuck in place since they left the school building.
