  Friday, 5:00 AM

After Jisung explained it was best to get them all to a hospital, Felix rushed to call his mom. It caused a domino effect. First Felix's mom, then Chan's dad, and Jisung's aunt. The adults scurried over to Changbin's house, adding more vehicles to the swarm of engines already outside of his house.

The adults fussed over Changbin and their children, shouting questions like angry bees. It overwhelmed the four of them but Felix had enough.

He was tired of watching Chan repeat the story while he subconsciously poked at purple bruises.

He was tired of hearing Jisung whimper in pain and fear.

He was tired of seeing tears roll down Changbin's face, and he was tired of shaking.

"Clearly, nobody is okay, so can we please get Jisung and Changbin to the hospital, we're wasting time," Felix finally said. His tone wasn't loud, barely above a whisper but the despair in it was enough to make it feel like he had screamed.

That shut them up. The four of them simultaneously let out sighs of relief.

Their parents had discussed among themselves before deciding that Jisung's aunt and Chan's father would deal with the cops, while Felix's mom drove the four of them to the nearest hospital.

The trip to the hospital was anything but fun. Jisung's head was still throbbing, and they all prayed it wasn't a concussion. Felix hasn't stopped shaking since he woke up, and Changbin is struggling to keep a grip on his consciousness. Chan is hanging on to his strong facade by a thread. His brave face began to slowly chip away every time he had to repeat the story of the heart-wrenching event to the police.

To make matters worse, the atmosphere in the car was heavy. The air felt confining as if they were all sharing one cage that had zero breathing room, and no view of the outside world. Admittedly, it felt better to share their problems with the adults now. Maybe the cage was expanding.

Chan had mulled over the awkwardness of the car ride all the way until they were being called in by the doctors. He focused most of his attention on Felix, who has been despairing over Changbin being moved to an emergency room. Jisung was glued to his phone, updating both his aunt and Chan's father on the situation. Apparently, Changbin was sporting a broken rib and a  mildly concerning case of blood loss. Chan is beyond grateful that he was there because it definitely would have been worse.
