— Gon's POV —
I look up at this stranger both in fear and curiosity. I can't really tell what they look like because of their dark, black hood that's on their head. Other than that, they're just wearing a... black turtleneck? ...with "dirty-purple"-looking pants. The only part of their skin that I could see was the lower-half of their face, due to the hood shadowing the upper-half, and it seemed to be pearly and pale.
As if they had barely been out of the house.
I tried backing up against the tree again, only to realize once more that it's right behind me. I wipe the tears off of my cheeks, embarrassed at the thought of how stupid I must look.
"Uh... are you okay..?" the stranger asked me, his voice a little deep yet gentle.
I couldn't even respond. How should I respond?
Although, I did notice how the stranger sounds genuinely concerned.
"Not much of a talker?" the stranger guessed, leaning back and forth from the balls of their feet to their heels slowly, over and over.
"L-Listen, p-please don't... don't h-hurt me..." I whispered between hiccups, hugging my legs up to my chest tightly.
The stranger, despite me not being able to see their face, seemed surprised by what I had said. Their lips parted, possibly in thought.
"Hm... well, you can trust me. Don't gotta worry about me doing that," was all they said. They seemed confident to earn my trust.
"H-How should I know that?" I asked defensively, furrowing my brows at them. "I don't even... know you.."
The stranger just sighed. "You're right," they murmured. They sighed again, more quietly, before pulling their hood back away from their head. This stranger was, most likely, a guy.
And he was...
Gorgeous.
He had messy yet fluffy-looking hair that was as white as snow. My eyes trailed down to his cat-like eyes, which were equally as striking. They reminded me of the vast, blue ocean, or beautiful sapphires—I could probably stare at them for ages. Just as I thought though, his skin was rather pale-looking, almost like pearls. I felt my face begin to heat up as examined him.
He was... hot?
The corners of the stranger's lips curled into a smile as he walked closer to me and crouched right in front of me. I held my breath as he leaned in close and held my chin gently to look up at him.
"Staring problem, huh?" he teased in a quiet voice, and I felt my cheeks burn even hotter. After moments of staring back at one another, he chuckled softly, probably at what my face must of looked like, and let go of my chin. "I was just messing with ya," he assured me, and I let go of the big amount of air that I had held in. He still stayed crouched though.
"I trust you," I said suddenly, and the stranger's face twisted into utter confusion and shock.
"What?" he yelled suddenly as I lifted my head a little higher, more confidently. "How the hell can you trust me, just like that?!" he asked me in befuddlement, throwing his hands up into the air to emphasize his confusion. "You don't even know my name, my background—anything!" he went on, and I only stared into his beautiful, blue eyes. "Well, most strangers that are intending to do something bad to someone else wouldn't even show their face, right?" I pointed out. The stranger's face softened very slightly in understatement. "I guess... that could be true..." he mumbled, grabbing his own chin thoughtfully.
