An Afternoon [Eddie]

I laid with Eddie, neither of us saying a word- just staring at the ceiling, passing a cigarette between us. We were laying flat on our backs, with our hands entwined, him gently rubbing his thumb on my hand. The cigarette burns down, and he graciously let's me have the last drag before he stumped it out on the ashtray next to his bed. The smell of the smoke surrounded us, belonging to the hazy cloud that filled the room. Shifting my body slightly, I turned so I was laying on Eddie's chest. Although he had a shirt on, I traced where his tattoos would be with my fingertip from memory. After a couple of minutes when there were no tattoos left to trace, Eddie chuckles and grabs my hand, kissing it, and holds it against his heart. I look up at him with a sweet smile, and he returns it.

Still not saying anything, he puts both of his arms around me and holds me in a secure hug, and I put my arms around him too. One of his hands went under my shirt and rested on the small of my back, in a loving way rather than suggestive. His hair tickled the side of my face, and he rested his chin on my head. He was so warm, and the smell of his aftershave was so comforting, along with the smell of the smoke.

I sighed contentedly, and I felt him smile.

After a few minutes of peaceful, relaxed silence, my stomach growled loudly, killing the mood dead. This caused a huge laugh to erupt from Eddie, and he hugged me tighter as he laughed. Embarrassed, I buried my face in his chest, and he held the back of my head and stroked my hair, still laughing.

"What a mood kill." I stated kind of annoyed at myself for ruining the peace, but my tone took a hint of playfulness so I wasn't all serious.
"Do you want that last cookie sweetheart?" He asked me, and I could feel him still grinning. Although he called me pet names all the time, I couldn't help feeling the butterflies. Nodding into his chest, we slowly got up and made our way into the kitchen area of his trailer.

Earlier this morning, Eddie and I had walked to the bakery in Hawkins together and bought some sandwiches, cakes, cookies, pastries, and had a little picnic together in the woods. It was adorable; a warm summers day picnic, with the person I loved most in the world.

As Eddie went to the fridge to get the last cookies out that we could finish earlier, I wandered into the living room.

There was a record player sat on a small table in the living room, and I went over to it and played my favourite record- 'Everybody Wants to Rule the World', by Tears for Fears.

It had come out this year, and Eddie went the day it was released at the record store and bought it for me. He surprised me with it later on, and it was all I played for weeks.

As the song was starting, Eddie approaches me and bows down, holding the cookie up to me. "For you, my lady." He puts on a (very bad, may I add) British accent and looks up at me with his big chocolate brown eyes. I giggle and take it from him, and curtsy, thanking him for the cookie. We both quickly finish our cookies before the singing even starts in the song.

Welcome to your life, there's no turning back

Eddie stands with his hand outstretched and a small smile on his face. I take his hand and he gently pulls me into him, still holding my hand, and the other resting on the small of my back again turning into a slow dance. I rest my head on his chest as his rests on my head. We barely move, but we sway back and fourth with each other, just loving holding onto one another. We're in our own little world until the second verse.

There's a room where the light won't find you

I'm snapped out of my own daydreams when Eddie breaks apart from me and dramatically spins me around, singing the words loudly and very out of tune. Obviously I join in.
