Shit. It looks like it's about to rain, I better get back quickly. With my phone in my hand, I exit the Fenix mansion to walk out back into the garage where my car is parked.
I'm swift to locate my matte black Aston martin car, I unlock the door and step inside, huffing once I'm seated. I really want to see Vince but I don't want to face him when he's pissed and when I'm irritated. It's not a good combination at all.
Just when I'm about to rev the engine of the car, my phone buzzes with a text. I press my lips into a straight line and take out my phone, I'd rather check whatever it is now than on the road. Never text and drive, maybe in a car chase it's alright but still.
Unknown number: Hey there Stella
I smile the moment I see the text, I know exactly who it is. I gave him my number that day and this is the first time he's contacting me so I save his number and type back a reply.
Me: hey Ares, everything alright?
Ares Moretti: Oh wow, you recognized the number, damn it you killed the fun. I was going to play 20 questions until you figured it out.
I laugh at his text and realize that it's getting darker and darker outside, I better get back soon.
Me: hmm I'm kinda busy atm :P buuut tell me what happened? You're okay, right?
I nervously bounce my leg up and down, waiting for his reply. My eyes dart between the dancing three dots on the screen indicating that he's typing and the window, where the clouds are gathering overhead.
Ares Moretti: Yes ma'am, everything is fine. I wanted to check up on you because you've been on my mind like the annoying woman you are, are you fine?
Yet again, I'm smiling at his text.
Me: annoying, huh? Do you just happen to have a thing for annoying people or...
Ares Moretti: Oh shut up, you know you're always on my mind. Now answer the question, Stella
Me: glad to know that you've been having pleasant thoughts lately, but I'm okay. All good.
Me: your turn to answer the question, A
Ares Moretti: First of all, you're lying to me and second of all, I'm fine. I wanna see you though, can we meet up soon?
Shit, we can't meet up soon actually, not until everything with Vince settles down. I don't want anything new, especially anything concerning Ares, to pop up and shatter things further.
Me: I have to run some damage control between me and Vince, long story, I'll try to explain it in person.
