Pov Scott:

"Morning Sam.", I greeted my new mate in the morning.

"Hey.", he answered while he tried to unlock his padlock.

"I wanted to show you the photo that Parrish gave us.", I told him.

I pulled a printout of the photo out of my pocket. It was almost completely black, but in the narrow glow of the street lamp you could see something.

"Here, look, do you see those little, red spots? That are his eyes. He is like me, but if he has a pack, they might attack us or Beacon Hills. That's why we want to find him.", I explained.

"And how do you wanna do that?"

"Stiles said he has a plan. We'll meet at the vet clinic later. Do you come too?"

"Of course."

The bell rang and we ran to our first lesson.

"Hey, Scott!", Stiles whispered from behind me.
"What?", I answered a bit annoyed, because my grades were really bad and I had to concentrate.
"About my plan, I had an idea how we could catch the Alpha.", now he had my attention. Sam, who sat next to me also seemed like he was listening.
"I think-", Stiles started, but Coach Finstock interrupted him.

"Stilinski, McCall, Hale! Detention, today! Until 3 p.m.!", he shouted.

"But Coach!", Stiles started.
"Stilinski! I don't wanna hear another word coming out of your mouth this lesson!", Coach shouted.
Stiles looked at me with an "I hate that" look on his face. I grinned.

Later, in Detention, Stiles sat down between Samuel and me and started to explain, "I think we should hide in the old Hale house.
Scott, you will howl at midnight or later, when the full moon is at the highest spot in the sky.
It will attrac the Alpha and maybe he will howl back. If not, we'll go look for him.
One will stay in the house, two will go to the school, two to the nemeton, two will look near the house and two will look further afield."

"But what if we don't find him?", Sam asked.

"Stilinski, Hale! You can discuss the unimportant things at home. Be quiet.", Coach Finstock interrupted us again.

Sam and I nodded, but Stiles seemed very annoyed, "Coach, it's 10 minutes to three o'clock. Why can't we just leave earlier?"

"Stilinski! I don't care how many minutes are left until your detention ends! Just be quiet!"

"But you could get yourself a coffee if you quit early. We won't say anything.", Stiles tried to get us out of that building.

"Fine, but just, because I like you, Stilinski. You can leave.", he got up and left the room.

"Yess!", Stiles shouted and we got to the vet clinic as fast as we could.

"Where have you been so long?", Malia wanted to know. Mason, Corey, Liam and Lydia showed up behind her.

"Detention. Sorry.", I kissed her.

"Do you have a plan?", Mason asked.

"Yeah, we do. I do.", Stiles was proud. Then he started explaining his plan.

"Okay, but who is going to look where?", Liam seemed unsure.

"I think, Lydia and Scott should go to the nemeton.
Derek and Sam will look further afield. Mason and Corey, you will go to the school.
Liam, you will stay in the house.
Malia and I will look around and near the house.", Stiles explained.

"And what, if we can't catch the Alpha?", Corey was worried.

"Uh eh.", Stiles just said.

"The plan is stupid.", it came from Liam.

"Do you have a better one?", I asked him.

Liam shook his head.

"Okay then. We'll meet in the house, tomorrow at 10 p.m.", I decided.

Everyone agreed and we tried to find something to do while we were walking to my house.

"We could do our homework?", Lydia meant.

"Sam, can't we go to your house?", Malia turned to Samuel, who became white like the wall.

"Um, no, it's a bad timing.", he stuttered.

"Where do you live anyway? You didn't tell us.", Stiles was interested.

Sam just remained silent.

"If we do the homework together, we all could get good grades.", Liam broke the silence.

"Yeah."
"Mh."
"You're right."

So we decided to help eachother with the homework. And as we noticed, Malia and I really needed help.

Sam explained some formulas to Malia, while Lydia showed me how to solve some really hard math questions.

"Ey Sam, may I copy from your sheet? When did you do all that?!", Stiles seemed stressed.

"I did it during the chemistry lesson. I was bored.", Sam just said.

It was almost 9 p.m. when my friends left. I was thinking about following Sam, who had walked. I really wanted to know where he lived.

So I made a bad decision.
I sneaked after Samuel.

He walked down the street, and into the forest. Why would a normal human, who knew that Beacon Hills was famous for being strange, go into this forest?

But I followed him.
Sam walked and walked, like he knew exactly where to go. And then I saw it.

"The Hale house? Why would he go there?", I whispered to myself.

Suddenly he turned around and I hid behind a tree.

Sam walked around the house to the back, which was more destroyed than the front. An old rope was hanging there.

It seemed like Sam wanted to climb up the rope, but he froze in the motion. I thought, he had dicovered me, but he just got ahead and climbed up the rope.

I just heard him get in the house and walking down the stairs. He lay down and I could hear his breath.

Did he sleep in there?! Every night?!

I had so much questions in my head, when I walked back to my house.

Did Derek lie to me or was it really just a big coincidence?
Was Samuel really a human?
Wasn't he scared of the Alpha?
How long has he been living outside?
Did he even have a family?
