THE CAPITAL AEOLUS(THE CASTLE HALL)

Inside the hall looked as prestige and as beautiful as outside. Keith marveled at how well kept the place was, or maybe it was just a preparation for the day that all the children were meant to receive their elemental spirits.

Each element has four spirits, the spirits are graded from weakest to strongest based on the essence pool possessed by the spirit. They are grouped into three with the weakest spirits being called commoner spirits, the two middle ones being called noble and the most powerful being called a royal spirit.

It annoyed Keith that even spirits had their divisions but you couldn't exactly change that right now. The four spirits of the four elements in order from weakest to strongest are:

Pryo: Fox, Leo, Phoenix and Salamander.

Hydro: Serpent, Dragon, Pisces and Aquarius.

Terra: Scorpio, Gorilla, Taurus and Gnome.

Aero: Falcon, Hawk, Eagle and Sylph.

Before coming inside the hall, Keith, his mom, Caitlin, her parents and brother, and Aiden had come to get Keith and Caitlin registered. Keith noticed how some nobles had turned their noses up at him, but had become apologetic and fearful when his mother and Aiden showed up. There was no need for introduction since they had both re-equipped their trademark elemental knight uniforms.

They registered as Keith being no.107 and Kaitlin being no.106 after which they entered the hall.

Keiths mom had left Keith with Kaitlin and her parents because she had to join the rest of the elemental knights for an opening performance. After a few more minutes, the opening time came, and the event began.

A man walked in, he came from one of the doors behind the raised platform meant to serve as a stage. His entry was silent, no one heard the door open and close, no one heard his footsteps, no one sensed his essence. All everyone felt was an aura, a presence even greater than a kings that made the once rowdy hall become so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

The man was old, looked to be in his 70s if not actually older. He war a loose-fitting white robe and carried a purple staff with a flat circular top with an engraving that looked like the branches of a dead tree, the staff serving as the body while the disc held the branches.

He held the gaze of the crowd for a heartbeat, two...

Then the spell was broken as he lessened his aura. Murmur broke out as people resumed what they were doing, but the atmosphere before and after the man came could never be the same.

"Greetings!" the Elder said.

His voice sounded as expected, but what no one expected was to hear him as though he were speaking softly and clearly into their ears. He looked at the crowd with a piercing gaze. Keith from where he sat saw the mans eyes.

The Elders were were a sapphire color, almost glowing.

"I am sure that you all know the reason why we are gathered here, and that it is for the same reason we have every year on this date. We are here to grant elemental spirits to every child who registered for the test.

What to do is simple, when you here your number called, come up to the stage and put your hand on the orb beside me. I will then announce to you the result, and at the end of the day you will be given your spirit to be absorbed.

If you do not come up within a minute of being called, then your turn will be skipped and you can come next year."

after saying this, murmur broke out once again in the crowd especially among the children who were the centers of attraction.

"Before we begin, please I'd like you to welcome the King of Aeolus, King Alaric IV and the royal family!" he said as a massive cheer erupted.
