Hualian AU ~13. Extra // Heart In Paradise

Part 1

Xie Lian could hardly contain his excitement at San Lang finally, finally, returning; he couldn't believe he had waited HOURS for him to come home, and he looked so tired. San Lang was really the sweetest ever! Xie Lian insisted in carrying his luggage upstairs, then also the bike; Hua Cheng protested, but he seemed to be really tired so he stood around helplessly.

They got into the flat, stopping by the door to take their shoes off, as they have done it so many times before; only this time, Hua Cheng pinned Xie Lian against the wall, kissing him deeply, nonstop and very, very slowly, pressing his whole body against Xie Lian's. Xie Lian gasped, his body tensing; after a moment Hua Cheng let him go, with an embarrassed smile.

"Sorry Gege".

Xie Lian looked more embarrassed, biting his lower lip, "It's alright..."

Hua Cheng grabbed his hand, and, looking intently at Xie Lian's face, said, "We can take it slow". He didn't let go of Xie Lian's hand, and Xie Lian, smiling, replied, "Alright. Come in".

They entered his bedroom still holding hands, Xie Lian wheeling Hua Cheng's luggage in; he hugged Hua Cheng again warmly, and asked, "So tell me, how come you're here? Why you didn't tell me you were coming, the place is a mess..."

"I missed your mess", he replied laughing heartily, clearly meaning he didn't care about the state of the place at all. "I saw that party pic, then thought, fuck it, I need to go back to Gege right now. And here I am", he concluded with a smile.

"But did you... leave the projects you were doing just like that? San Lang you can't do this kind of stuff, it's bad for your career and –"

"It's fine", he replied coolly, "I told him I was tired of him pushing me around, that's not how I work, and that I'm based here. If he's interested, we can still collaborate, there's plenty of technology to make use of. I don't need to put my life on hold to be there".

He was of course referring to Lang Ying, that guy who headhunted him at Mount Tong'lu, dragging him to L.A., saying it'd be two weeks or so – Hua Cheng managing to return only after almost six months! Xie Lian thought he sounded professional, but he'd only get away with it because he was incredibly talented; he had no doubts Hua Cheng could do anything he put his heart into.

"Alright. That party pic...", Xie Lian replied, suddenly remembering how depressed he looked in that party – hopefully it didn't mean much to anyone else, but Hua Cheng could see through: he even came back because of it!

"It broke my heart", Hua Cheng replied, caressing Xie Lian's face, "I didn't know you were missing me that badly, you always sounded so cool when we spoke..."

"I didn't want to put you under pressure, you had to focus on work..."

"Ah Gege!", he shook his head and sighed; then he suddenly smiled, "I'm here now, and I'm not going anywhere".

They kissed again, then Xie Lian said, touching his face, "Go have a shower, you'll feel better..."

Hua Cheng nodded, and opened his luggage, rummaging through it – its messy state just showing he decided to travel last minute. Xie Lian went to the kitchen, put the lasagne he had bought in the oven, then went back to his room to tidy up a little, change the bedding. Hua Cheng came back from the shower, and, bending on a knee, said,

"Let me help you".

Xie Lian smiled, thinking of the first time he came over, also helping to change the bedding; now, rather than feeling uncomfortable, Xie Lian was just enjoying having him around, wearing only boxers, feeling right at home. Plus, it was a sight for sore eyes!

"I'm having a shower too, so relax... the lasagne will be ready soon. I'll make a salad to go with it".

"Alright", Hua Cheng replied. He looked so sexy when he had this sleepy face!

They had dinner, and again just like that first time, Hua Cheng could hardly keep his eyes open, but he was trying hard not to fall asleep, like a kid, wanting to spend as much time with Xie Lian as he could. Xie Lian thought it super cute, and, smiling, took him by the hand to the bathroom so he could brush his teeth, then tucked him in bed.

"Get some sleep San Lang. You said you're not going anywhere, right? Neither am I", he smiled, and kissed Hua Cheng. "I'm coming to bed in a bit after doing the washing up".

"Hum", Hua Cheng replied, snuggling himself in the covers, happily.

"Goodnight San Lang".

"Goodnight Gege".

Xie Lian didn't take long to wash the dishes and put them away, but when he went back to his bedroom, Hua Cheng was already fast asleep.
