一百零一 - yìbǎilíngyī - 101

一百零二 - yìbǎilíngèr - 102

*The pattern for numbers 100- 999

example: 三百七四

百 means hundred. The number in front of the 百 provides information about the number in the hundreds place. In this case the 三 (3) is in front of the number therefore the number would be 300. The numbers after 百 will give infromation about the tens and ones place. The number 七 (7) provides information the tens place and 四 provides infromation about the ones place. When you put all the information together the number is : 374.

example 2: 六百零八

 六 (6) - provides information about the hundreds place

零 (0)- provides information about the tens place

八(8) - provides information about the ones place

Numbers 1,000-9,999

一千 - yìqiān -1,000

一千一百零一 - yìqiānyìbǎilíngyī - 1,101

一千一百零二 - yìqiānyìbǎilíngèr - 1,102

一千一百九十九- yìqiānyìbǎijiǔshíjiǔ -1,199

三千二百 - sānqiānèrbǎi - 3200

* The pattern for numbers 1,000-9,999

千 means thousand. Add (number) 千infront of the hundreds place number to add the thousands place to the number.

example:

一百九十九 is 199 but when you add 一千 in front of the number it becomes 1,199. The number in front of 千 provides information about which number is in the thousands place.
