The great hall was decorated with orange and white marigold. The guests were escorted into the great hall by Dwarkian and Mathura soldier.
At the entrance of the hall, the womenfolk were escorted towards the large marroon curtain while the men were led towards the inner hall.
Ashwatthama raised his eyebrows as he saw the chairs arranged in a large spherical shape. He glanced towards his left and saw both Lakshman Kumar and Surath looking skeptical as they murmured to themselves while Duryodhan looked at the chairs with slight confusion.
" Who sits where ?" Duryodhan asked out loudly as he looked at the soldier who escorted them.
" Those who are actively participating the suyamwar sits down Maharaj and those who are mere spectators will stand behind slightly," The soldier said and bowed slight before retracting his steps.
" Well then, come on Lakshman, Ashwatthama let's go and stand behind there," Duryodhan said and walked away.
Lakshman Kumar blinked and glanced at Ashwatthama. The man exhaled his breath with his eyes closed. When Ashwatthama opened his eyes, he walked away determinedly, stepping behind the chair before standing rigidly while Duryodhan stood behind Surath with a proud smile.
The other Kings and primces took their seat and soon the entire hall were filled with whispers about how the suyamwar will be conducted.
" Annoucing Maharaj Balaram and Maharani Revathi of Mathura," the soldier said in aloud tone.
Balaram and Aaratrika walked into the hall, hand in hand while the announcer began announcing Shri Krishna of Dwarka with his son Pradayumna along with Maharaj Vasudev and his queens. Duryodhan blinked when Karna and hid family was announced and Vrishasena began walking towards a seat.
" Mithir! What's the meaning of this ?" Duryodhan said in a stunned expression while Karn walked towards him with a serene smile.
" It's his choice," Karn said causing Duryodhan to shake his head.
" He may be your son but his not good enough for either of them," Duryodhan said and crossed his arms over his chest.
Karn chuckled and nod his head, glancing at Ashwatthama who looked slightly ill.
Ashwatthama bite the inside of his cheek as he glanced up and saw Shri Krishna staring at him with a stormy look and pleasant smile. He exhaled his breath when Maharaj Balaram called his brother's name and Krishna averted his soulful eyes from Ashwatthama.
The princess was called out one by one. The first was princess Aadhvitha who walked inside wearing a fiery red lengha with gold shawl. Ashwatthama blinked seeing the girl looking like a younger version of Draupadi. He glanced to his left and saw both Karn and Duryodhan looking slightly stunned as they stared at the princess.
Ashwatthama watched as she turned around and looked at her parents who smiled and nod their head. Krishna walked towards the girl and placed his hand on her shoulder.
" My niece would like to choose a man who recite the best of poems," Krishna said with a charming smile.
Ashwatthama snorted while Duryodhan looked absolutely amazed. Soon one by one the prince began reciting poems. Some were pompous, some stuttered and some basically recited bawdy poems.
