I open my eyes to an unknown scenery.
One second I was about to leave home to school, and the next I was pulled into our old well. The rest of what happened is a little foggy.
I look around to see if anything is familiar to me, but everything is strange and different.
It seems I'm in a glowing forest. The trees are so big and tall, they stop the sun from shining through, and they have a beautiful purple glow.
The sounds of the animals are a bit similar but I also hear sounds I've never heard before.
The grass is soft and healthily green. I notice that under me is the only area that's glowing white, with the old well behind me and my backpack next to me.
"Where...am I?" I say in a confused tone.
Suddenly I hear what sounds like horses running and metal clinking against metal. I stand up and quickly hide in some tall plants nearby.
"Kapd el!" An armored man on the biggest horse yells.
"Igen Uram!" The other armored men on the other horses yell.
I don't understand what they are saying, but I notice the men on the horses are chasing after another man who looks injured and is riding on an animal that looks like a tiger.
I'm scared. I have no idea what's going on, where I am, how I got here, and I'm afraid of being found by these people who I can't understand.
Still hiding in the tall plants, the men on horses use an odd weapon that brings the man they are chasing down to the ground.
They hit him a few more times as the man yells in pain, and the man on the biggest horse says "Rendben, férfiak, itt végeztünk. Visszamegyünk őfelségéhez, és elmondjuk, hogy végzett az Elder Forestben."
The other men says in reply "Igen Uram!" I've heard them say that before. Maybe it's what they say to a person in charge.
It seems like he told them to leave as they left the man to die of horrible wounds.
After the armored men run back the way they came with their horses, I slowly move towards the bleeding man who seems to have passed out.
As I inch closer, I notice he has deep wounds in his back and legs. I don't know how I can help, but I don't want to leave this man to die.
I remembered that I had my backpack and that I had a bottle of water and other supplies, so I ran back to get it and brought it next to the man.
Rummaging through, I see that I have bandages. I take off my coat and take out water to clean off the blood on the man, and then I put on the bandages to stop his wounds from bleeding.
I don't have much medical knowledge, but hope this helps him survive.
I feel like I forgot something..."Oh yeah!" I say out loud after remembering that this man was riding on a tiger.
Looking around I see that it's been watching me this whole time nearby. I was so worried about being found and about what was happening that I didn't get a good look at his animal.
It looks quite similar to a tiger except its fur is black with circular lines that glow blue. Its eyes also shine a cool blue.
Feeling scared that the tiger is staring at me, I suddenly hear a deep voice in my head saying, "Human girl, I must thank you for caring for my master".
Frantically looking around confused, I hear it again saying "This way girl. The tiger, as you would call it".
Looking at the tiger very confused, I said out loud "How are you talking? Or even talking inside my head? How do you know my language?"
"I am a magical beast called Merien. I am able to communicate my thoughts to your mind by transmitting my power to you. You'd probably call it telepathy."
"Oh wow, this is weird. Actually, how do you know my language? The men chasing this man earlier were talking in a weird language." I ask the tiger.
The tiger stays quiet for a few seconds and then replies with "I am able to identify the language and see images if I so choose to when I use this power. The language you heard earlier is Ogethian."
"You are in the Elder Forest. I'm not sure how you arrived here. You don't seem like you're from here. What kingdom are you from?" The tiger asks me politely.
"I'm from North America." I say to the tiger hoping he'd recognize the name.
"Hmm...I've never heard of this kingdom called North America. Do you remember how you got to such a place as the Elder Forest?" He asks.
