Bruce's POV:
Ever since I escaped the grabber, things haven't been the same. My family's constantly baby's me and the girls at school that used to call me weird are now all over me.
Today I decided that going to the park without telling anyone. Something away from my parents would help me clear my mind.
When I got there a dog came up to me and let me pet him. "Awe where's your owner buddy?"I asked as I looked up and saw a really pretty girl. She looked worried. "Hi!" She spoke out of breath. "Hello there, does this happen to be your dog?" I asked as I pet his head. "Mhm, he's such a trouble maker. I apologize!" She replied quickly. She seemed embarrassed. "No no no! It's alright!" I reassured her.
_______
Time skipI walked home after getting her number and had the biggest smile on my face ever. I opened the door to my house and saw my mom on the phone. "False alarm! He's home. Sorry to bother officer." My mom spoke softly as she hung up the phone. "Mom..?" I said confused. "WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?" She yelled as she slapped me. "I just needed some space! That's all, please calm down." I defended. "You don't get space! I'm your mother! And..AND...and.." she yelled once more. I stood there, tears filled my eyes. She walked away.
I went to my room and shut the door quietly. "Fuck!" I mumbled under my breath. My mom isn't abusive, she just worries about me. Sometimes she worries too much. I laid back on my bed and closed my eyes.
Y/n's POV:
I waited by the phone for hours. Surely he would call today. At 8 o'clock my mom came into the kitchen and patted my shoulder. "N/n maybe he's busy. You need some sleep." She said softly. I sat up and went to my room.
Fluffy was laying on my bed. "Do you think he's gonna call?" I asked petting fluffy's head. He huffed and closed his eyes. I reached for my lamp and pulled the string that turned it off. Maybe tomorrow..?
Morning time skip-
I woke up to the sun hitting my face from my window. "Good morning!" I yawned as I sat up, petting my dogs head. "Ruff" he let out as he got up and stood by my bedroom door. I got up and opened it for him, following him into the living room. "Good morning sunshine!" My mom spoke in her usual sweet tone. "Good morning!" I replied rubbing my eyes. I looked over at the kitchen table and saw food. "Go eat sweetie" my mom laughed as I sat down awkwardly. She smiled and handed me a fork. I ate the food fairly quickly and went back to my room to get dressed.
Bruce POV:
I woke up around 9 o'clock in the morning. I grabbed the water cup beside my bed and took a sip of it. When I got up everything seemed so dark. Darker than usual. The colors of everything in my house seemed dull. Maybe this is the after affects of getting kidnapped. I remembered the walk yesterday, in the park. How happy I felt meeting that girl. Maybe I should call her?
I walked to the kitchen and picked the phone up. Shit. The baseball she wrote her number on is in my room. I dropped the phone and quickly walked to my room to retrieve the ball. Grabbing it, I ran back to the phone and dialed the number. "Hello? This is L/n residence." A woman spoke into the phone. "Hi, I'm Bruce Yamada. Is Y/n there?" I said confidently. "Oooh! Yes! Let me go get her for you!" She cheered. The line was silent for a few seconds until I heard the sweet voice I heard yesterday. "Hello?" She spoke with confusion. "Hi!" I replied smiling. "Bruce?! Why didn't you call sooner?" She asked. "I- sorry, my mom hogged the phone yesterday" I lied. "It's alright." She laughed. "Do you want to go with me to this place?" I asked stumbling over my words. "Depends" she said sarcastically. "I want to get to know you more! And I've been to this place before. It's really fun!" I added.
Other than playing baseball, I loved going out and dancing. There's this dancing club on a hill side, it's outside. (Not a strip club) There's things like square dancing and hip hop dancing, it's amazing. They don't have alcohol there, but they have this fruit punch that tastes really good.
"So are you up for it?" I asked hesitantly. There was a pause. "Hmmm... yea! Anything to get me out of my house" she said lightly laughing. I smiled. "So should I pick you up and 7? It opens at sunset." I said beaming. "Yeah! I live on Pine street, the house with the mint green voltswagon." She informed me. "See you at 7!" I spoke before hanging up quickly.
See you at 7..😭🫶
