Bruce's POV:
I walked home in the early morning. The sun was rising slowly and the grass was wet from last nights rain. My house was a few blocks away so I could go to Y/n's house any time. I really like Y/n.
The door was open and I walked in slowly. As I shut the door I heard something smash. "Mom!" I yelled running to my room. I stumbled to the door and pushed it open. My mother stood there with a baseball bat dropped to the floor and her jaw dropped. "Mom.." I let out as I scanned the room to see everything that was shattered and broken. "What the FUCK!" I screamed. "Brucey.." she spoke in a hushed tone. "No mom! Get out!" I said defeated. She then walked away, stepping over the bat. My window was broken, my lamp was on the ground and bend, my bed frame collapsed, my framed jersey was on the ground ripped with glass everywhere.
My bedroom was a wreck. I opened my closet and grabbed a duffel bag and stuffed clothes into it. Shirts, pants, underwear, shorts, jackets, hoodies, shoes, hats, everything could fit. I threw the duffel bag on the ground, grabbed a spare outfit and made it to the bathroom to take a shower.
After a few minutes I got out and got into my new clothes and some shoes. I grabbed the bag, my baseball stuff and a hat to put on my head. Heading for the door I saw my mom on the phone in the kitchen. I'm done with her and the fact that my dad isn't making her go on meds.
I had some money with me so I took the bus to the post office. "Thanks man" I said to the driver as I stepped off the bus. He nodded and drove away. Billy Showalter the paper boy, was one of my friends from school. His dad worked at the post office and had Billy do paper runs. He could help me out for a few days.
That's when I saw Billy kicking the stand to his bike. "Billy! My man!" I called out making him turn his head. "Bruce! My boy!" He called back as he walked towards me. "What's with the bags, bro? You look homeless" he asked as he dabbed me up. "Uh, yeah.. about that. My mom is nuts, dude! And I need a place to stay for a few weeks." I explained in a chill way. "You can stay with me and my family. They love you so it's no biggy!" He responded patting my shoulder. "That would be great thank you!" I thanked him.
Y/n's POV:
I got up and got dressed after Bruce left. He wouldn't leave my mind. Every thought was him. "Who are you thinking about like that?" Mom asked as she lightly laughed. I sat up real fast. "I don't know what you're talking about" I defended. "Oooh! Is it Bruce?" She cooed. "Maybe," I replied smiling. "Gwen was right!" She smirked. "What! Gwen said something!?" I asked surprised. "You know she can't keep her mouth shut" she spoke sheepishly. "Yeah" I replied annoyed. At least she doesn't know about last night. I'm
After breakfast I decided to go to the dancing club by myself later, Trying to run into Bruce. But first I was gonna go hang out with my best friend Makayla.
I was walking down the street and I saw Mrs. Yamada, She looked frantic. "Ma'am?" I called out. "Oh dear.." she breathed out as she came towards me. "What's wrong ma'am?" I asked curiously. "My son, Bruce.. he ran away this morning!" She cried as she shook my shoulders. Really? After he had just escaped a kidnapper not even a week ago? Something's up..
"I told the police but they said I was crazy!" She yelled at me for no reason. "I'm sorry Mrs. Yamada.. I'm sure he's ok?" I replied calmly. "HES NOT!" She screamed louder and slapped me across the face. A police man saw and came up to us. "Is she bothering you?" He asked me. I nodded with a scared expression. "Ma'am, you're under arrest for assault, I saw you hit her. And that's Mrs. L/n's kid you moron." He spoke professionally as he cuffed her and walked her to his car. He came back a second later and crossed his arms. "She's been at it all day. I think it's time she goes to the nut house, where she belongs." He said as he patted my shoulder and walked off again.
Maybe I should go right to the dancing place. I think my outfit is good to dance in. Flared jeans, tied shirt, sneakers, perfect!
Time skip to the Club
"Y/n! You're here! You're back!" A lady spoke as she pulled me into a hug. It was the woman with the microphone from last time. "Good to see you...Alice" I read her name tag. She let me go and jumped up and down. "Bruce should be here at 7, but we can hang for a few hours" she said with glee. She seems.. energetic.
We came and sat at a table on the patio platform this place was on. "Ya know, it's been a while since Bruce had a dance partner. He must really like you!" She said while stirring her lemonade. "Oh really?" I asked intrigued to hear a story. "Yea, before he got kidnapped he had this friend. I think her name was Emalina. He had a huge crush on her! And they danced the nights away here." She said in awe as she looked up. "And..?" I spoke waiting for a response. "But, Emalina decided she liked Matthew Reginald better. So she went off with him to do karaoke at the ice cream parlor on Friday nights." She rolled her eyes. "Aw, Bruce must've been heartbroken.." I added holding my hand on my heart while pouting. "Yea, he was. Then he got kidnapped 2 months later. But! Now you're here! And I bet he has an even bigger crush on you. I mean. I saw the way he looked at you the other night!" She added making all kinds of hand movements. "Woah, that's a lot to take in." I lightly laughed. "Sorry I get carried away sometimes" she apologized. "No! It's alright!" I reassured her.
That's when I saw Bruce walk up to the patio platform..
