Will hops out of the car.

"Bye guys, have a good day! " Jonathan says.

" Bye Jonathan! " El runs ahead of him, leaving Will to shut the door.

"Bye, " Will says, slinging his bag over his shoulder. He slams the car door shut, and Jonathan drives away.

He's walking up the front steps when someone taps his shoulder.

"Hey, Will, did you hear?" he turns around, coming face to face with Eddie Kaspbrak, his best friend.

"Oh, hey Eddie! Hear about what?" Eddie smiles.

"Apparently we're gonna have to do a book report for Mrs. Bailey's class. Maybe during lunch we can go to the library and pick a few books out. Just to get ahead, ya know? " he looks at Will for approval.

"Yeah, that sounds great! Hopefully she lets us pick partners." With Eddie's help, he pushes the heavy doors open.

They walk through that halls, and Eddie's face lights up. "Richie! " he calls.

A tall boy with black hair walks over.
"Hey, Eds! How ya been? " he ruffles the the shorter boy's hair.

Eddie slaps his hand away. "Quit that! And stop calling me that! " he shoves richie playfully.

"Whatever you say, Eds. " he loops an arm around Eddie's shoulders.

"Hey, Will, what's up? " the green eyed boy looks up.

"Ehh nothing much. Where's Stan?" Will asks, putting the combination into his lock.

"He's sick. Didn't you see the messages in the group chat? " Richie raises an eyebrow, amused.

"Shit! It totally slipped my mind. I was in a rush this morning, I haven't even checked my phone today. " Will says.

"Tsk, tsk, when will you learn Willy Nilly? " Richie puts his hands on his hips and shakes his head playfully.

Eddie smacks him lightly with a book.

"Speaking of learning, first period starts in three minutes. Will and I gotta get to class, idiot. "

Richie pouts dramatically. "What, no good-bye kiss? "

Eddie rolls his eyes. "Fine, c'mere." He says.

Richie leans down and Eddie plants a small kiss on his cheek. Will rolls his eyes.

"Now get lost, we're gonna be late!" Eddie laughs, pulling Will by the arm.

The two boys take their usual seats in the back of the classroom and begin to get their textbooks out.

"Fuck, fuck, fuck," Will whispers. He rummages through his bag frantically.

Eddie looks over. "You okay?"

Will turns to his concerned friend. "I forgot my glasses. " he says, desperation in his voice.

"Shit.. " Eddie mutters. "I guess you're gonna have to sit at front." He says. Will huffs. "You're right.. " he thinks for a bit. "Wait here, I'm gonna go talk to Mrs. Bailey. " Will says.

He walks up to his teacher's desk. "Mrs. Bailey? " She looks up from her lesson plan. "Yes, Will?" he stares at his shoes. "I-uhm- I accidentally forgot my glasses. May I sit up front?" She smiles gently. "Of course. Let me see," she scans the front row. "Ah, there. There's a free seat next to Michael." She points at a boy with black, bushy, curls. "Thank you," Will says timidly. "Absolutely, " Mrs. Bailey says, and she returns her attention to the folder on her desk.
