wanda pov

apparently yesterday wasn't obvious enough for y/n. I was very clearly jealous. but evidently, I wasn't as clear as I could've been because y/n was going on a date with the woman from the conference yesterday.

"I've taken a personal day, tony knows. some guy is going to be filling in for me"
some random guy?! I don't want some random guy, I want you!

"alright"
I tried my best to sound sad.

"great, I'll see you tomorrow then, idiot"
she rumpled my hair around before she left.

y/n pov

to be honest, I wasn't really looking forward to going on the date at all. the main reason I left was because I just had to get away after being with wanda 24/7 for the past few weeks. I needed to recharge. hypothetically and physically. wanda's scent was becoming stronger every day I spent with her. I decided to spend the first half of the day building my blood tolerance while I could.

I sat nervously in the small restaurant, wondering if she would even show. I had hoped not but I looked up to see her with the biggest smile on her face. my heart broke because I knew we'd never connect.

"hi!"
we shook hands and sat opposite each other in the booth.

"you look wonderful"
I didn't want to seem rude and there really was no other conversation started so the best thing I could do was comment on her appearance. besides, it wasn't a lie.

"thanks, you too"
the silence was killing me.

"sorry if I seem a bit off, I've never been on a date before"
I rubbed my sweaty hands on my knees.

"oh, I'm so sorry if you got the wrong idea"
I stopped breathing, even though I couldn't in the first place.

"pardon?"

"this isn't a date, I just thought you were cool. I want to be friends"
her smile made me relax, along with the fact that I wouldn't have to date someone else.

"oh. of course, right. no, honestly, that's perfect"
I audibly sighed in relief.

"really?"
she gave me an unsure smile but I only nodded.

"it's just, I only just moved here and it's been quite lonely and-"
she rambled cutely.

"I completely understand, Bella"

"really?"
I raised my eyebrows and she laughed.

"alright, sorry"

"so how's pennsylvania working for you so far?"
