(Y/N) and Wanda go to the Smallville bank to meet with Jean to talk about what happened at the funeral. They walk in and sit down with Jean.
Jean: Hi, you two. How are the kids doing?
Wanda: Their fine. They're just a little shaken up.
Jean: It seems luck runs in the family. Did (Y/N) ever tell you about our accident coming home from School on the bridge?
(Y/N): I try not to talk about those days too much.
Jean: So, Pete Day was picking on (Y/N), until we drove off the road, we were sinking until (Y/N), goes out and pushes the bus back up to land and drags Pete back up as he was no longer in the bus. Nobody was hurt. Not a scratch. It was the strangest thing since the Blip. Then again, lots of strange things happened here back then. OK...
(Y/N) is shown papers about his mother and the farm by Jean.
(Y/N): Mortgage papers? My mom paid hers off years ago.
Jean: Her first. About five years ago, she was Blipped. And due to the blip, a farming crisis happened, banks here were offering reverse mortgages to seniors. We sent one to Martha, for if she ever came back. Pay now for the opportunity to let the bank purchase the remainder of the farm upon their death, if the landowner's heirs couldn't repay the balance of the loan.
(Y/N): She wouldn't need that kind of money.
Jean: No, but the Howlett's were going to be evicted from their home that had been in their family for generations. Jane Foster's cancer made it so she could hardly help out the farmer families. I have dozens of stories. Everyone in town knew that if you were in trouble, Martha would be there. She was like that Lois Lane's friend, she always writes about. She was like this town's Superman or Superwoman.
Wanda: It sounds like they had a lot in common.
Jean: She still protected half the farm's value. She wanted there to be enough money to send your kids to college. So, you can either repay the loan or you can accept a healthy layout for the remaining value of the property.
(Y/N) knew he had to make a really tough decision. He couldn't let his childhood home be sold like it was nothing.
(Y/N): I don't know.
Jean: Well, when you make your decision, come back and let me know.
Wanda: We will. Thank you, Jean.
Jean: My pleasure, Wanda.
Wanda and (Y/N) leave the bank and get in the car and start to drive back to the farm.
