In Turkish, nouns don't have articles like French, Spanish or etc. and also Turkish doesn't have just an article like "the" in English.

To define an object that we know about we use demonstratives like "these,this,those,that". If we are talking about a thing in general we mostly add just a word before every noun.

Here are some examples,

Ex 1:

I read the book.

Kitabı okurum. ( Kitab-ı= Kitap:book and ı is the accusative suffix.)

(Book:kitap, okurum is the present simple of the verb okumak - to read)

Ex 2:

I bought the house.

Evi satın aldım. ( Ev-i = Ev:house and i is the accusative suffix.)

(After this example there will be no translations check the unknown vocabulary from a dictionary,it'll be better for you to memorize them.)

A/An = Bir

Actually,"Bir" means one in Turkish but it's sometimes used to make generalisations on an object. )

Ex 1:

An artist should be creative.

Bir ressam yaratıcı olmalıdır.

Ex 2:

İnsan bir kitapta kendini bulabilmelidir. ( kitap-ta = kitap-book, ta is a suffix to mean in )

Human should be able to find himself in a book.
