A/N: hmm no real plans here but let's do this
Two weeks had passed since that disaster of a shopping trip and Brian was itching to get out again. But every time he got the nerve to ask, the news would show reports of more missing gifted and he'd lose it.
There was at least 5 reported missing every few days and those were just the ones with parents who actually cared. Who knew how many disappeared that parents didn't care about because they were different.
Brian, Evan and Chris were sitting together eating lunch, frowning at the TV. "This is the fourth one in two days," Chris mumbled, picking at his fries.
Brian nodded, committing the kids name to memory like he had for every other missing child in the last two weeks. He had a little book he wrote every name down in so he could work on either finding each child or give their parents some closure.
Chris threw a fry down bitterly and sat back, frowning at the screen. Brian studied him for a moment, having only really hung out with him maybe 4 or 5 times since he'd gotten to the school.
Chris was short, about 165cm (5'5), with tanned skin and black hair with blue streaks. He also had the most piercing green eyes Brian had ever seen, and he was Irish. His wings looked like a snowy owl, white with black and grey streaks.
He was from California, and acted like an emo skater boy. He always had some kind of band merch on with basketball shorts or plain tank tops and loved dark eyeliner.
Brian loved his personality, his usually carefree happiness and usually smart-ass mouth. But right now he had a glare on his face, a tendon flexing in his temple as he clenched his jaw in irritation.
"I fucking hate people who discriminate. We're all human, what's the fucking point?" Chris muttered, his anger seeming to be stronger than Brian would expect.
"I still think we need to do something. We can, I don't know, try to communicate with the president or something. Maybe become crime fighters, show the world that we aren't dangerous," Brian insisted and Evan scoffed.
"I doubt that'll work Brian. Their fear of us is very deep, and yeah, there are some out there who do abuse their power," Evan said quietly and Brian rolled his eyes.
"And normies don't? I mean, fuck, look at serial killers, look at mass shooters, look at dictators and tyrants. There's evidence that there's always those few people who decide to use their skills, their charisma, their "abilities" for evil and terror, and yet people don't automatically assume that the human race as a whole are all inherently evil right?" Brian demanded and Evan shrugged.
Brian shook his head. "I'm not giving up. I want to be able to go hang out at the movies or park or mall and do normal things without fear of being attacked or shunned or I don't know. I just, I want to be normal without giving up who I am," he said and Chris nudged him.
"I get it. But what can we do? We're all just, kids and young adults. What can we do?" He asked softly and Brian sighed. "I don't know. But we can't keep living like this. Look! That kid is only 11 years old, more than likely taken by the government to be experimented on. After what Jon and Liz told me, I don't want to imagine what those kids are going through."
Evan just looked at the TV, frowning slightly. Brian knew he was thinking hard from that crease in his forehead, eyes staring but not focused. Finally he sighed and looked back at Brian and Chris.
"Fine. Where do we get started?" He asked Brian directly and Brian's brain fuzzed out. "Um, we need to get a lead team ready. So like, group leaders who have pretty much mastered their abilities and can help train others more indepth like," he threw out, not really sure.
