I held on to Kaneki.
"Don't leave me.."
The next day, I was at the hostipal. And waited. I didn't know for how long. The doctor came outside and took off his bloody gloves from the surgery.
"Miss Touka."
"How was the surgery?" I interrupted. I know it was rude, but I wanted to see Kankei. Now.
"It was a failure."
My eyes expanded and I knelt down onto the floor. Tear droplets dropped onto the white tiles of the hostpital.
"He only has an hour to live. Come with me. Let's hurry."
I nodded, and followed the doctor. He showed me the room. Room 92. I won't forget this number, I thought. I opened the door to see Kankei on a bed. He looked up. I saw a tear streaming down his face. It was silent. The doctor left, and it was just me and kankei.
"Kankei.."
"Touka.."
I ran towards Kankei and hugged him. He broke the hug and we kissed. It was nice. My mind blanked of anything else. Tears streamed down our face as we kissed. Kankei broke the kiss and stared at me.
"You haven't eaten haven't you." He said.
I shook my head.
"Touka, you need to eat. You'll die."
I shook my head again. I just kept crying by his side.
"Touka.."
"Don't die Kaneki, please.."
Kankei hugged me. Tight. I hugged him back.
"I love you Touka. Please keep on living."
"How can I if your not here?"
"Please. For me."
My eyes widened. I hugged him tighter.
We hugged in silence. He put his hand on my face as he backed away from the hug.
"Goodbye."
His hand dropped in the air. It seemed like time slowed as I saw his hand. His heartbeat stopped.
"KANEKI!"
The doctors rushed in to see me crying.
"Please keep on living. Keep on living. Living." Those where the last words I cherished.
"I will, for you."
