💕Espresso x Madeleine 💕

The sun shone brightly onto the kingdom with
great glory. Streets were filled with laughter and happiness, all cookies were outside enjoying the warm weather.

Well, maybe not all cookies.

The rich, strong aroma of coffee filled the room. Papers were everywhere and roasted coffee beans could be found scattered on the floor. Espresso Cookie had no time for enjoying sunshine as work had filled his schedule. He had been working nonstop for days now, but coffee helped him manage.
"I need to finish this experiment without interruptions from a certain knight. Gosh, Madeleine has been bothering me all week! His face is so punchable and his ego is bigger than the whole of earthbread. And, he always barges in here, trying to get me to SLEEP and EAT. Even worse, he drinks his coffee with sugar and MILK. It's absurd, he is absolutely crazy."

Espresso's eyes widen at the scene displayed in front of himself. Honestly, how did this happen? Probably because he was thinking about Madeleine so much that he got distracted. Espresso sighed, flopping down onto his couch. That was his last attempt at the experiment before he would have to go out to obtain more resources. The coffee mage blew his hair out of his face.
"Stupid Madeleine," he muttered under his breath.

Said knight suddenly barged in as usual, his well-known smile plastered onto his face.
"Greetings my dear friend Espresso!" The knight commander beamed ear to ear
"I suppose that small explosion was another one of your experiments, Haha!"
Espresso simply scowled, the cookie that caused his distraction had carelessly made an appearance in his laboratory. The mage inhaled sharply.

"One, I have made it extremely clear that we are not friends nor acquaintances." Madeleine's smile faded.  "Two, yes it was my experiment, a failed one to be exact."
Espresso mentally noted to go out later for supplies, knowing that Madeleine would not be leaving his house anytime soon.

The taller cookie cleared his throat awkwardly.
"Well then, Espresso Cookie, how do you do? I hope you have been getting enough sleep and eating enough!"

Oh dear, not this again. The knight commander had always stressed himself over looking after the coffee mage. Last month Madeleine and marched to the stores with Espresso - who was dragged along unwillingly - and bought almost half the store's food all just for the mage. There was still leftovers from then.

Espresso sweats. When had he eaten last? Perhaps last week? Maybe just the other day. 
Last time he had slept? The coffee mage wondered if there was an answer to that question.

"Uhm, yes! Eating and sleeping have been included in my schedule!" Espresso had just managed to lie, but Madeleine wasn't buying it.
"Oh really?" The knight raised an eyebrow, "I wonder why those eyebags are on your face if you have been sleeping, huh. Really is a mystery."

A scowl was displaying his unhappiness at that moment as he ate the bear jelly burger in his hand. This was not one of Espresso's good moments.
Madeleine simply smiled fondly at him, glad that he was finally eating. In all honesty, Madeleine just wanted the mage to be healthy. He didn't know why he felt that way. Perhaps it was the divine's doing, maybe thats why he felt so warm inside when he was around the antisocial boy. Or why his heart skipped a beat whenever Espresso flashed him a rare, genuine smile. Or why he lost himself in those hazel eyes that seemed to trap him in thoughts. Or perhaps there was another reason....?
"No Madeleine, you do not love Espresso. He is just a friend. No more then that. No matter how much you just want to grab his face and kiss him until the end of time, he is just a friend. Wait-"

"Madeleine!"
The knight had not realised that the mage was calling his name, he had been lost in thought like a child in the market who had been separated from their parents.
"Yes! Whatever do you need my friend?" Espresso rolled his eyes.
"I have finished the meal that you bought for me."
"Was it good? Did you enjoy it?"
"Too sweet."
"Oh."
It had slipped the knight commander's mind completely. Espresso likes bitter things.
"No matter! It's bedtime for you now! Haha!"

It was safe to say that Madeleine had successfully captured the mage.

The antisocial boy was wrapped up in blankets like a burrito and was on the bed unwillingly. Needless to say, the mage was comfortable, but of course he would never admit that out loud. Currently, Madeleine was reading a bedtime story to Espresso who did nothing but sigh miserably. The knight commander glanced at him, noticing that he wasn't tired at all.

Suddenly, he put the book down and started taking off all his armor, putting it down on a desk. After that,he unwrapped Espresso then climbed into bed with him, making sure that the blankets covered both of them. The knight then grasped the mage in his arms, firmly hugging him.

Espresso's face began to heat up as he gasped.
"What are you-"
"Shhhh" Madeleine had interrupted him "Go to sleep."
The mage simply scoffed, wrapping his arms around the taller male.

Madeleine smiled softly as Espresso sighed contently, finally drifting off to sleep. The knight ruffled his hair then kissed his forehead.

"Goodnight Espresso."

BONUS

As Madeleine fell asleep, Espresso opened an eye, smiling lovingly and his blush spread across his cheeks generously.

It was safe to say that these two have fallen head over heels for eachother.
