I woke up the next morning to see Carter still wasn't home. But at this point I'd gotten used to her doing that she was really into her work I guess. I grabbed my phone and tried to call her again, to no surprise it went to voicemail. "Surprise, surprise" I said to myself letting out a long sigh.
I got out of bed and went into the bathroom to do my hygiene I decided to put on a pair of grey biker shorts and an old T-shirt. I walked downstairs to see Dave standing in the kitchen. "Good morning ma" he said taking a sip of his water, I tried my best to not stare but I couldn't help it he was so fine. "Good morning" I said. "Thanks for the food last night" I said "No problem, how did you sleep?" He asked. "Pretty good, how about you?" I answered. "I slept good as well I was waiting for Carter to come through but she never showed." He said I shook my head, "Yea she usually does this when she has work to she gets really into it" I said trying to brush it off.
"I was gonna go get something to eat if you'd like to come?" He asked "I'm not sure when Carter will be back but I'm starving and I figured you would be to" he continued.
I thought about what I should say or whether I should go but something in me didn't want to say no. "Yea sure, just let me get dressed" I said "Ok but you only have 10 minutes" he said "Don't like waiting" he said giving me a serious face. I turned around and walked away and something in my head couldn't help but want to look nice for him.
DAVE POV
I sat in the couch and waited for her since I'd already put together a fit for the day, it consists of a grey Nike sweatsuit and Jordan ones. It had already been way pass her 10 minute limit and I was losing patience.
"Come on Ari !" I yelled up the stairs. "Coming !!" She said A few moments later she came down. I couldn't help but stare as she walked down the stairs dressed in a yellow set kind of like mines she'd done her makeup and she looked beautiful. "Im ready" she said "I see" I said "you look nice" I said I could see a smile coming across her face.

She walked ahead of me grabbing her purse and keys I could help but steal a glance at her ass as she walked, God she was blessed I thought to myself.
He headed towards my car and I opened the door for her to get in. "Ouuu gentleman" she said smiling. "Always" I said before closing the door. We started down the road before I asked her were she wanted to go
"What's good around here" I asked. "My favorite place to eat here is the restaurant called Ricky's they have to best food" she said rubbing her stomach. We both started laughing as I told her to give me directions there.
Before long we pulled into the parking lot of the restaurant. She reached for her her door but I assured her that I had it. I got out and walked to her side letting her out. I grabbed the restaurant door as well. "Damn it smells good in here" I said causing her to laugh. "Yes and the food is 10x better." "Hello table for two" i said. The hostess grabbed two menus and showed us to a booth towards the middle of the restaurant. We slid on opposite side and started reviewing the menu. I caught myself stealing glances at her ever so often. "You really look nice" I said She blushed hiding her face behind the menu. "Thanks ! So do you" she said We looked each other in the eyes for what felt like ever. "What are you gonna get" she said finally breaking out gaze. "Umm in not sure tell me what tastes good" I said looking at her. She cleared her throat looking over the menu. "Well I'm gonna get the cheesesteak and loaded fries, I'd tell you to get that but then I wouldn't be able to eat from your plate" she said laughing. "You're definitely not eating off my plate" I said laughing. "And I think I'll get what you're getting" She sucked her teeth with and exaggerated pout on her face. I laughed again "Such a copy cat" she said laughing "Such a drama queen" I relied in the same tone. Just then the waitress came and took our orders. "And for the drink" she said after writing down our food. "Arnold Palmer" we said at the same time. "You wanna be me so bad" she said bursting with laughter. "Man what ? That's a common drink" I said with a chuckle.
We continued to laugh and talk for the rest of the time until our food came out. We said our grace and immediately dig into our food. "Mmmmmm" she said swaying left to right. I laughed "It's that good?" I asked making her roll her eyes. "It's so good" she said "Yea it definitely is" I said chewing on a bite of mine. "So you haven't talked to Carter?" I asked I could see the mood in her face change. "No" she said putting her food down. "But it isn't a big deal" she said trying to shrug it off. "She does this all the time she just get really wrapped up in work, she's just busy a lot you know?" She said by her tones I wasn't sure if she was just telling me or trying to convince herself. "Yea I get it" I said not wanting to make her uncomfortable. "Have you tried to call her?" She asked me. "No I figured if she wasn't calling or answering for you then she wouldn't for me either" I said shrugging. She wiped her hands and pulled out her phone I could see she was contemplating if she wanted to call or not. Before long she pressed her contact and the phone went straight to voicemail. She shot her a quick text and put the phone down. She let out a long sigh leaning back into the booth. "Don't worry about it" I said "It's like you said she's just busy with work" I said trying to comfort her.
We continued our lunch and it went great she was a really nice girl and I enjoyed her company. We finished and I paid leaving a tip for the waitress with that we headed back to my car. Soon I got a call. I looked at my phone and saw it was Carter. I looked to Ari to see if I should answer she turned to me waiting for me to answer.
"Yurrr" I said picking up. "Yurrr" she said on the other end. "You make it to my crib yet cuh?"she asked. "Yea I got there yesterday I waited for you but you didn't show" I said looking over to Ari. She turned to seem as if she wasn't listening but i knew she was. "Yea I just had something I needed to do" she said "Oh ok that's wassup" I said "I got to me Ari I told her, she's cool asf" I said seeing her smile. "She's been kind of worried about you" I said I heard Ari suck her teeth on the side of me. "Yea um I'm just handling business right know you know how that is" she said "She doesn't know I called you right?" She asked I look at Ari before answering "No, she's upstairs" I said "Oh ok yea don't mention that I called you to her cuh I'll be there in a minute" she said before hanging up. I looked at Ari but she had already turned her head towards the window.
