An Inevitable Change

Ari POV

"H-hey, what are you doing here" I said lookin Dave up and down.
"This is the address my cuh gave me, this suppose to be her and her girl spot" he said smiling.
"I assume you the girl" he said.
"Yea" I said shyly,
"Your Carters cousin huh?" I asked
"Yea fasho" He said giving me another smile flashing his full icy grill.

His smile was made of diamonds literally, and I just knew he probably had the prettiest teeth underneath.

"So uh, is she here" he asked, breaking our gaze in each other.
"Well she stepped out a little before you got here, she said she had to handle something" I said

I couldn't believe HE was Carter's cousin, at this moment I felt like the odds had to be against me.

I picked up my phone to call Carter but I got no answer, I should've known, she usually doesn't answer the phone when she's handling business.

"Well I'm not sure when she'll be back but make yourself at home and I'll show you to the guest room" I said.
He grabbed his bag and followed me up the stares.
I felt the hairs in my neck stand up it had to be a sin for somebody to be this fine. I was so nervous having him this close behind me as I walked up the stairs.

"Here we are" I said stopping at the end of the hall to the room he'd be sleeping in.
"Thanks Ma" he said placing his stuff down.
I tried to speak but I couldn't manage to get words out. I just smiled and nodded before walking away.

I don't know how this was going to work out.

DAVE POV

After settling my stuff in the room I took a quick shower and threw on some gray sweat shorts and a white wife beater, I decided to go into the kitchen and look for something to eat.

I walked past the living room and saw Ari sitting there watching something on TV, I continued to walk  in the kitchen as I scanned the fridge for food.
After I saw there wasn't anything I decided I would order something.

"Hey um im gonna order some food do you want anything" I called out to Ari.
After a while she walked into the kitchen.
"What did you s-" she paused in the middle of her sentence and looked me up and down.
After a few seconds she continued talking
"W-What did you say?" She asked
"I said I was going to order some food do you want anything" I repeated.
"Ummm yea" she said.
"I was going to wait for Carter but she's been gone for hours and she isn't answering her phone so I'm gonna go ahead and eat."
"Ok, what do you want I'm thinking Chinese" I said
"Yea definitely Chinese" she said with a big smile in her face.
She had the prettiest smile her teethe were perfectly aligned, she was so beautiful.

After ordering out food we went back into the living room and watched her show.
"What did you say this was called again" I asked.
"Grown-ish" she said,
"It's my favorite show" she said smiling.
"Yea it's pretty hard" I said
"Carter doesn't like to watch shows with me" she said.
"Why not?" I asked
"Idk she just not into that stuff" she said
Before I could say anything I heard a knock at the door.
We both got up to answer it.
"Nah sit down I got it" I said.
She sat down and I went to get the door.

I got our food and handed the guy a fifty and told him to keep the change.
"Alright here we go" I said making my way back towards Ari.

"Good I'm starving" she said propping herself up and her feet.
I laughed at how hungry she acted.
"What I haven't eaten all day" she said opening the bag.
She pulled out her food and handed me mine.
I looked over at her as she bowed her head to say grace, I bowed mine in return.

"Amen" she said after a short prayer.
"Amen" I said.
"Oh, I didn't notice you were praying with me, I usually do it by myself" she said.
"No I always say my grace" I said
"Me too, I think it's important because like you never know who touching yo food" she said shoving a spoon ful of broccoli into her mouth.

We sat and talked for what seemed like hours until she fell asleep. I looked at the time
2:07 a.m it read I didn't realize it was so late.
Carter still hadn't been here, I thought.
I figured I would just catch up with her in the morning. I shook Ari trying to wake her up.
"Hey you should got to bed" I said.
I grabbed her hand  and guided her sleepy body towards her bedroom.
"Good night" she said once she was in bed
"Goodnight" I said before closing the door.
