"just make your self at home honey, you're family for however long you stay here. i know it's just the two of us, but we can make this a home." my foster mom ceilia said with a smile. the only thing i really know about her is that her husband and daughter died in a car wreck. so now she's all alone. it's really sad honestly.

this is probably my 3rd or 4th foster family i've stayed with since i was taken away from my dads custody. my real mom was never there. she's too busy shooting up to realize i've been gone for 2 years. anyway my name is brooke tate, and i'm tired of this shit.

moving home to home really isn't good for a social life. every friend i've ever made, i've lost from moving to a new family. and they don't bother the effort of keeping touch. sooo... i'm all alone now too. but it's nothing knew to me. and if i'm being honest, getting close to people scares me now. i've lost all that i've loved. ive never been to boston so i know absolutely no one. boston, massachusetts seems like a nice place tho.

"yeah, thanks this is great. uhm do you mind if i just take a walk around the neighborhood? just to get to know this place a little better ya know." i asked sitting down on my new bed in my new room.

"yeah, yeah of course hon. just keep your phone with you in case you need me." she smiled politely and stepped out of the door frame.

"awesome. i will." i said standing up and zipping up my jacket.

i ran down the stairs to the front door being sure not to fall.

"oh! and don't talk to strangers unless they are the neighbors kids." she said as i touched the door knob.

"neighbors kids?" i said letting go of the door knob and turning to face her while she's washing the last dish in the sink.

"yeah. mary lou's boys. we occasionally share food recipes. but her boys are about your age." she said with a smirk and winked.

"no no no Ms. bailey. they probably wouldn't even be my friends let alone what ever YOU think is gonna happen." i laughed as i felt my face heat up.

"oh come onnn sweet heart, you got this. they will love you. but fair warning, they are triplets so don't act too surprised when you see them. they have an older brother too but he moved."
she informed.

"well thanks for the info, but i doubt i'll need it." i laughed and walked out the door.

i can feel the tip of my nose immediately getting cold and numb. my favorite time of year. the fall.  i walked down the neighborhood sidewalk and admired the falling leaves and pretty scenery of the neighborhood until a small dog ran up to me jumping and licking my hand.

"hi there doggy." i crouched down to his level and pet him.

"shit, i'm sorry. i didn't know he'd run out the house." a male voice said with a hint of amusement and a giggle.

i looked up at the tall boy and stood up. he had brown hair and blue eyes. he's pretty cute i can't even cap.

"oh it's fine. i haven't had anyone this excited to see me before." i laughed looking down at the dog.

"i haven't seen you around here, why's that hm?" the boy asked

"i just moved here. im a foster kid to ceilia bailey." i said the foster kid part a little quieter

"ohh no shit?! she bakes us cookies like every week and talks to my mom. she's nice as fuck."

"i hope so. right now i'm taking a trip to find these triplet boys she told me to meet." i smiled down at my feet

"you're in luck kid. im one of the triplets." he laughed

"oh fr? that makes this significantly more awkward." i said pressing my lips into a straight line causing him to laugh.
