Chapter 17

Arizona's POV
Today we need to tell everyone we're leaving, it's not going to be easy but it is necessary with the fact Amelia is leaving in lass than a week

-"Amy I need to go, bring Sofia with you when you're coming" I said kissing her forehead, she was half asleep, my shift starts at 7am so it's 6:30am now and Amelia is coming to the hospital at 10am so for Sofia's and our sake Amelia is bringing her. If I made Sofia wake up at 6 with me she will be grumpy and mean all day

-"Answer me so you won't leave Sofia alone at home" I said chuckling

-"Fine, I'll bring her with me, now good night" She said turning to the other side

I got to the hospital, before I entered I put the ring in my uniform's pocket I want to tell everyone after we're telling them we're leaving...

The first person I saw was April, because she's always at the ER,

-"April!" I said hugging her, then I walked to my first patient, Lili Hardin 37 years old 34 weeks pregnant They're already have a little boy, Michael he's 6 and he need a cord blood transplant or he'll die, so they want me to deliver early....

-"Hi, How are you feeling today?" I asked her and smiled at her

-"I am feeling good relative to a pregnant woman with a tumor sucking my baby's umbilical cord and a son with cancer" She said looking at her husband, Jonny Hardin

-"And how are you feeling today Jonny?" I asked him

-"Terrified but thanks for asking though" He said and I sigh but smiled a little smile

-"I'm obligated to ask you again, are you sure you want to continue this procedure?" I ask and they looked at each other

-"Do you have kids doctor?" She asked me

-"I do, A little girl, Sofia. She's 8" I said and smiled

-"So you know how it's like to love someone with all of your heart" She half said it half ask it

-"I do" I said

-"So you can't judge us for doing what we're doing, We love our little baby girl now, but we know Michael, he is our little happy smilie kid who's now crying all the time from the chemotherapy and we can't even be there for him!" The mother explained

-"It's not my job to judge you" I explained and she nod

Amelia's POV:
It's 8am so I woke to get ready, after my shower it was already 8:20 so I needed to wake up Sofia, I never needed to wake up Sofia before but I think I'm going to do it a lot now because I'm going to be her stepmom, wow stepmom sounds really good

-"Sof, wake up sweetie" I said entering her room

-"Your mommy is waiting for us at the hospital" I said to her while opening her bedroom's blinds, then I sat on the side with her face and rubbed her back

-"Wake up please" I said and she sigh and slightly opened her eyes

-"Please give me 5 more minutes mom" She said and turned around, What did she just called me? "Mom" I am sure it was a slip, she's half asleep, I guess she realized how she called me as well because 3 seconds later she woke up completely and start panicking

-"I am so sorry Amelia, I... I didn't meant to it just slip..." She start apologizing and I was just smiling and I was completely confused

-"It's okay, I don't mind we just need to talk to your mommy about it, You want to surprise her and go now?" I asked and she nod, then she hugged me! And then she cried! I rubbed her back again and reassure her everything is okay, It took me 3 whole minutes (!!) to calm her down, what happened to her?

-"Hi, Sof, Do you want to tell me why are you so upset?" I asked her and she took a deep breath

-"When I called my mama's girlfriend mom one day, by accident! She yelled at me she's not my mom and that my mom left me and she doesn't love me, my mama heard it and they got into a fight and she broke up with her, my mama was really sad and it was all my fault!" She explained, I shook my head and wiped her tears and I am rubbing her cheek

-"Sofia baby, I need you to understand none of this was your fault, It was her's. You know your mommy loves you with all off her heart right?" I said and she nod a little

-"I love your mommy AND you and I have no problem with you calling me 'mom' if this is what you want, I just need to talk about it with your mom first, Okay?" I said

-"So you are not mad? Nor going to leave?" She asked with a little smile

-"I am not mad, You are a perfect little girl, Everyone need to be grateful to know you I am not leaving, you are stuck with me" I said chuckling a little and she hugged me again

-"I can't wait for you to marry my mommy" She said and I was so happy in the moment, I never wanted it to end, but I looked at my clock, it was 8:30 already and Sofia needs to change and eat breakfast

-"So I am going downstairs to make breakfast while you will get ready to go, So... Waffles or Pancakes?" I asked her and she looked at the ceiling like she was thinking about it

-"Waffles! With Nutella please" She said and I nodded

When I was downstairs I called Arizona...

Arizona's POV
After the C-section I was doing paperwork until Amelia called me, It was just 8:45AM so they had an hour before her shift starts

-"Hi babe, I just called to say I really need to talk to you when we get there, I am making Sofia breakfast now and we'll be there in like 20 minutes" She said and I was a little confused

-"Everything is okay?" I asked

-"Everything is great! It's not a bad thing but it's something we need to talk about face to face" She explains and I sigh

-"Okay, Love you see you soon" I replied

-"Love you more, Bye baby" She said and hang up

It was the slowest 20 minutes of my life!! I was so curious about what Amelia needs to tell me!

But thanks god it was 8:15AM so I waited for them at the entrance and they came only like 5 minutes later

-"Mommy!" Sofia said running towards me and hugged me

-"Aunt April!" She said and rushed to April who's just came in the ER again

-"Can you take her for a moment I really need to talk to Arizona" Amelia said to April

-"Of course!" April said and we got into her office

-"Sofia called me mom today... It was an accident she was half asleep and she apologize afterwards but the reason she was so terrified was because Callie's ex girlfriend yelled at her by calling her that and that why they broke up! I told her I have no problem with her calling me that, and that I love you and her and that I am never going to leave" She said all that in what seems like a one breath- impressive. I don't care if Sofia call her 'mom' too, as long as Sofia is happy, And I know Amelia is making her happy too.

-"I don't care, As long as you don't and she wants too it's fine by me" I said and she smiled and jumped to hug me

-"You are perfect, I can't wait to marry you" She said and then we both turned around and saw April standing at the door with Sofia, we probably didn't heard them opening the door...
