( 𝔳𝔬𝔩𝔲𝔪𝔢 𝔦, 𝖈𝖍𝖆𝖕𝖙𝖊𝖗 𝖙𝖜𝖊𝖑𝖛𝖊 ) — eventful end of the year
Charms was the subject that kicked off the infamous NEWT's. Exam week meant the castle of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry saw Evangeline in a way no one had ever before — cold, cruel, and crazy. It was safe to say the stress had gotten to her, disintegrating any kindness in her warm and beating heart.
The seventh years were assessed on four charms for their exam. ❛Ascendio ❜was first, which flung the caster high into the air. ❛Lumos Solem❜ followed, producing a blinding flash of sunlight. ❛Anti-Alohomara❜ was next, used to unlock several heavy-duty padlocks on ancient musical boxes and other student's confiscated belongings collected over the years. Last was ❛Reducto❜, which reduced the statue Evangeline was given into a fine mist.
Defence Against the Dark Arts was next. Evangeline couldn't help but lose track of her thoughts each time Professor Lupin's eyes met hers. She scolded herself mentally, focusing on casting ❛Bombarda Maxima❜, several disillusionment charms, and ❛Cave Inimicum❜ correctly, as well as recounting everything she was taught about Kappas by replaying her teacher's deep voice in her head over and over again.
Herbology was probably the most useless in Evangeline's opinion, as she reluctantly dissected Dittany, observed and recorded a Flutterby bush for six hours, and cultivated a Sopophorous plant and it's beans.
Potions lifted Evangeline's spirits slightly after Herbology. Professor Snape drawled on constantly throughout the exam, spouting useless information on Amortentia, the Elixir to Induce Euphoria, and a Veritaserum antidote. The seventh years were practically pulling the hair out of their heads as he mentioned the origins of Bezoar, yet not one of them could remember which potion it was used for. As Evangeline fiddled with the ingredients for the love potion, eventually satisfied with the distinctive mother-of-pearl sheen, she couldn't rid herself of the rich scents of chocolate, tea, and forests after a rainstorm.
Transfiguration followed, where Professor McGonagall commanded the seventh years to transfigure a raven into a writing desk, change the colour of their eyebrows, and perform a vanishing spell of their choice. In History of Magic, Evangeline produced stacks upon stacks of parchment about the history of Wandlore, and everything she knew about Azkaban, the founding of St Mungo's, and the 1692 witch trials. For Astronomy, Professor Sinistra had everyone study and observe cosmic ages, the Cetus Constellation, and rogue planets. The Divination NEWT consisted of tessomancy, cartomancy, and dream interpretation. Study of Ancient Runes was kept fairly simple with translations, and Arithmancy concluded the torturous week by writing essays that required the consultation and composition of complex numerical charts.
