The sky was pouring down with rain the next day and even gave a occasional rumbles of thunder, threatening the chance of lightning. The clouds hung in the sky with a thick grey to them. You felt relieved as when the heatwave is broken with a storm the temperature will go down.
The weightiness that you would normally feel seemed gone today even with the crash thunder you feel relaxed more than normal. Of course that feeling wasn't going to last but you try to remain oblivious to that fact.
You went about your day as normal until your phone started to light up with text messages from an unknown number. An un easiness started to bubble up inside of you as you approach your phone. You click on the text and start reading:
Unknown: why haven't you been reading my letters?
Unknown: You can't avoid me.
Unknown: It's fun to watch you try though.
You felt your blood boil as you realise that this creep now has your phone number. You decide since you can't avoid this person you respond to the messages. You realise that this might make the situation worse but at this point you just want to be left alone.
You: Who is this? Leave me alone before I call the police.
The response from the unknown number was almost instant.
Unknown: You wouldn't want that.
Unknown: I can get into your house faster than any officer could.
Your eyes widened at that message, the feeling of nausea immediately coming it's way back to you, you toss your phone to the other side of the room.
You cradle your head in between your knees as your whole body goes stiff. A knock comes from your bedroom window. Luckily the curtains and the windows were both closed so whatever-or whoever- was at the window could not see you or get in. A chill ran down your spine as a second knock came forcing you to acknowledge that it was still there.
You silently sit there feeling your eyes start to water out of the sheer fear. After a while the feeling of being watched passed and you got up to get your phone which had one new text from the unknown number.
You calmed your breathing before you clicked on the text:
Unknown: I know you were there. Why didn't you come say hi?
You feel like your head is spinning as you realise that this is all very real. There is a real person harassing you and threatening you, yet there is nothing you can do.
You block the number and pass out onto your bed exhausted and terrified.
