It should have been that people cry not because they pity the dead. They cry for the reason that they were left behind. Have you ever wondered those people who was left behind by their deceased loved ones? They cry because they pity themselves. They were left burdened of those memories that will forever be with them more than those souls who departed. The dead were already free while the love ones were burdened by the lingering memories that last longer than the soul of the departed.🕊️
Mile understands that the moment he decides to get out of this car, he must present a new face to everyone. Everyone knows him as businessman Mile Phakpum Romsaithong, not the Mile who cried a few minutes ago because he remembered a dream he had during his coma survival days. He's not a wimp. And in this line of work, weakness equals failure.
Mile sighs as he finally calms down. He clenched his teeth and adjusted his tie. Looking outside, he noticed that the venue was full.
He looked at Pete, who had a worried expression on his face. He simply smiled and nodded before opening the car door.
Pete rushes over to Mile's side as they are greeted by the School's Director.
"Good morning, Mr. Romsaithong, my name is Kan, and the school is honored to have you here," Kan said as he extended his hand for a handshake.
Mile immediately smiled and nodded before taking and shaking the hand.
" My pleasure, Mr. Kan. I see the ceremony is quite crowded, so I should offer my warmest speech to everyone who's here," he chuckled.
Mr. Kan laughs and scoffs as well.
"Well, my students here know their sponsor very well, and who wouldn't know you? You're one of Bangkok's top personalities," he explained. Mile instantly raised his brows and smirked.
"You're being overly flowery, Mr. Kan," Mile said as the director led him to the event.
Kan discussed the school's overall functions on the way there. How it got to the top, with the help of his sponsorship, of course. He also displayed the items and projects that the school accomplished with his funds. Mile finds this quite amusing. At the very least, he was aware of the progress and did not waste his money.
" So, Mr. Romsaithong, the school was founded in the 1970s and the- " Kan had not finished his sentence when Mile paused and raised his brows.
"When was it established?" Mile inquired.
"It was established in the 1970s, Mr. Romsaithong," he explained.
Mile simply frowned before a kick to the chest appeared. It's as if a gust of cold air slapped him across the face.
" Are you all right, Mr. Romsaithong? The school has a lot of history to offer for those who are interested, and if you want, I can even give you a tour of the campus. But unfortunately, the event is about to begin-- "
"No, change the time; I need to look around; they can wait," Mile said as he walked ahead.
Mile dismissed Pete and told him to wait outside while he went to look at the library.
The interior was enormous. From this vantage point, it appeared to be a vintage library. Mile surmised that the school kept the library in its original form rather than renovating and modernizing it. There were tables and chairs available. Small vintage lamps, as well as the tall and wide bookshelves, complete the look. He took a few steps towards a corner between shelves to take a look around. There were no people inside.
