"I HATE YOU!" Our first real fight, or rather- argument after 5-6 months of being together. You were fuming with anger, sadness, despair, and jealousy. You confronted me with the look of 'betrayal' drawn on your face. We didn't get along. We were overwhelmed by the situation. After all, we live in very different worlds - like a total ripped off book trope from a fanfiction because of this whole 'nerd x popular' relationship combo.

You were scared and I yelled at you for jumping into conclusions. You thought I was cheating on you. You thought you were a bet that my friends and I did to mess with your feelings. You thought that the declaration of my feelings towards you was all a joke.

And I called you delusional, unreasonable, and a freak in front of my friends that are composed of obvious red flags.

You were embarrassed and ran off, droplets of water had teared from your eyes. I should've been angry at you. I should've been annoyed. But I wasn't. Instead, I was disappointed in myself.

Disappointed because I made you feel like you couldn't trust me.

A wave of regret washed upon the shore of my heart. It drowned me in an ocean of guilt. No matter how much I want to swim back up, it wasn't letting me - for I had only kept sinking when you ignored me for days.

I broke your heart.
