The plan Normani explained to the Divisional Police Officer was that they had to get her alone into a separate place with Elizabeth, who Normani believed was the weak link of the two sisters. She also used her phone to record the entirety of her conversation with Elizabeth, which she later gave to the D.P.O as the confession to the crime. Evanda soon broke after when she realized there's no argument left for her anymore. They were arrested on charges of murder and a full investigation was in action.
"You know I'm pretty curious as to why you and your brother went to school today," asked the doctor, "you know today is the first of May, which happens to be a public holiday."
"We are senior students, sir—my brother and I. School regulations is that we final year secondary school students do not observe public holidays until the end of our WAEC exams," Norm paused for emphasis, "but, we can choose to come in mofti instead of our normal uniforms."
Normani had seen the doctor after she ended her business with the D.P.O. Only three people were detained at the station: Evanda, Elizabeth, her sister, and the black hooded guy whom Normani found out his name to be Israel. She also got to know that he was wanted for kidnapping, car jacking and armed robbery in four different states. She felt like she used a stone to kill three birds.
Normani stood by solemnly as she watched the rest of the passengers troop to their various destinations. Most of them bade her byes, even the stony-hearted Kayode. "You are a very intelligent young lady," Oyindamola had whispered with a smile before she joined her male friend. The Divisional Police Officer had helped her contact her father and he'd rushed to pick them up at the station. And the day, like any other, had gone by.
Normani had wished to at least see Evanda before she left. She wanted to see the look on her face while she's being held by the police. She wanted to look into her eyes and read all the things that resided there.
No such luck.

(Three days later)
Normani sat up drowsily in bed. She hadn't been able to sleep properly the night before due to the finishing chapter of her mystery novel. From somewhere, she imagined the high-pitched voice of a woman rambling on and on. She checked her digital alarm clock placed on her beside table. 5:45 am. She'd woken up fifteen minutes advance her usual waking time. Normani robbed sleep groggily out of her eyes and stepped off her bed. She was at the door when her father nearly collided with her on her way out.
"Hey Norma," he had a cup of steaming beverage in his hands. "You slept well last night?" She received the drink from him.
"Thanks Da-da," she muttered, "I didn't sleep much. Lots of work to do, plenty of mysteries to hatch and solve."
"You know I'm proud of you, right?" he said. Normani looked up at him with a kind of longing she missed from her mother.
"I do."
Jaja and her settled to watch the six o'clock news fifteen minutes later. She was surprised when one of major highlights had been that of the bus case.
"About three days ago, a man known as Anthony Williams, brother to the oil tycoon Benjamin Williams, suddenly slumped and died on a public shuttle bus 101. One of the passengers, a girl named Normani Truth and her twin brother, Jaja Truth managed to uncover the mysteries behind the man's death as murder instead of what people actually thought was a case of cardiac arrest.
The police have confirmed that he was murdered by a woman called Evanda Davis, who was also in fact the newly engaged fiancee to Benjamin, and her sister, Elizabeth. The report from the lab test and the autopsy shows that a rare neurotoxic poison, called batrachotoxin, was used in this effect..." The reporter's voice on the TV droned on.
"Damn!" Jaja exclaimed coming out of the kitchen with a jar of milk in his hands, "so it was actually batrachotoxin. You were right."
"It was mostly the doctor," replied Normani with a rather modest tone, "but yes, I was right all along." She grinned smugly.
Joshua Truth smiled. "You know that commissioner, what's his name again?"
"Commissioner Adeoye? What about him?" Jaja prompted.
"He wants to see you two, said he could really use your...skill set," he answered, drawling the end of his statement with emphasis.
"So what did you tell him?" Normani broke off her dad's side and went towards the jar of milk.
"I told him it was up to you two to decide." There was a brief moment of silence in the room as the twins contemplated what their father just told them.
"I just hope he's not incorporating us into the Police force or something," Jaja intoned.
"Hell, no. More like undercover criminal intelligence or something."
"That's more like it." Jaja high-fived Joshua. "Yeah!"
Joshua pulled his son and his daughter into a family hug.
"I wish your mother was here today. She'd have been happy to see her two children be the—"
"The most badass twins in the world!" Jaja cut in.
"I wanted to say the most courageous and intelligent, but that also works fine."
The three of them shared a long, hard laugh as the Tv host switched to the weather report for the day.
"Today, we'll have lots of sunshine and a bit of rain shower..."
