It's been a few weeks since the stranger, Mado, had attempted to pass through my territory. I'd gotten a new axe, and things were back to the relative normal I lived in.

It was a calm day, I'd already done my daily chores. I'd brought Wolkin' breakfast, he's been needing more help due to his age.  Wolkin' has been the only companion in my life, he raised me and is practically my dad. I had tended to the garden and hadn't seen any trespassers on my morning patrol, nor had I seen any of the neighbors. The day was shaping up to be slow and uneventful.

Which obviously means it's time for my peace to be ruined. Specifically by a knock at the door. The knock signified danger, if it knocks then it is probably smart enough to know how to fight. I grabbed my axe and slung it behind my back, I've never needed my axe when I open the door, but it's like I said "I won't be caught unarmed." But when I opened the door I knew it was time to use the axe.

It was Mado.
