We set off as soon as I'd finished my preparations, which was mostly me ensuring that Wolkin' would be safe and fed while I was gone. I was informed that the hike to this alleged portal was short, but who knows how long I'll be gone.
The walk was rather uneventful, the golden armor deterred the neighbors and no creatures crossed our path. Mado made a few attempts at small talk, but I wasn't in the mood for idle talk.
"So... Um... You have a nice place."
"Mhm, whatever."
It was about an hour after we left when we reached the tunnel, said tunnel was clearly unnatural with obvious signs of being dug out by a pickaxe. Mado then gestured ahead.
"We're almost there, it's just a little ways inside."
"This had better be good..."
I mumbled to myself before I reluctantly followed her, this was a good area for an ambush so I was on guard.
