Life's Biggest Surprise

I woke up in a panic and cold sweat, the nightmares never went away, I've had them for ten years now and no amount of medicine or talking helped. I sat up and looked around trying to find out what the time is and finally found the clock, it was 9:10 am which just about gives me enough time to get ready and drive to the shop. I got up folded the blanket and set it on the couch. I went upstairs down the hallway to my room passed all the empty unused ones to pick out my clothes for the day. I picked out a pair of light jeans, a white cotton shirt and a red flannel. I got dressed quickly and went to the bathroom to brush my teeth, do my hair, and put on the necklace Eren gave me at the river, I never left the house without it. My hair was a light blond color and short barely touching my shoulders so I put it in a half up half down style and gave myself one good look in the mirror, my blues eyes slightly red from being tired but all together I looked good. I went downstairs to grab my shoes, phone, keys and jacket before I left the house. As I walked outside the sun was shining with very few clouds in the sky. I walked down the path and opened the garage to my silver Prius. I got in the car and plugged in my phone to the auxiliary cord to play some piano music to calm down. I took a deep breath before starting the car, backing out of my driveway and leaving for work. Ten minutes later I pulled into the parking lot of Maria's Rose the flower shop. As I was parking my car I noticed the tattoo shop was open which was strange since it normally doesn't open till about noon and after sitting in my car for a little bit thinking if I should go talk to the owner about the music I got out and walked towards the front door of the tattoo shop hesitating to open the door but got over it and pressed against the door to enter the shop. When I walked in I noticed how quiet it was and there seemed to be no one around."H-h-hello is anyone around?" I asked into the empty shop then I heard a door open and close from the back. As the man rounded the corner I wasn't expecting to see this guy I mean you would think whoever owns a tattoo shop is big and scary but this man did not fit those requirements okay maybe the scary part but that was it. This was the man I saw outside last night smoking standing at 5'2 with an undercut and a slightly pissed off look. This time I could actually see his tattoos his left arm covered with vines, flowers, and these strange looking wings that were very prominent."Can I help you?" the man asked. I stood a little dumbfounded before I was able to open my mouth to say anything."Oh..um..hi I'm Armin I run the flower shop next door. I'm sorry to bother you but um I wanted to talk to you about the loud music. Its been kind of scaring some of my customers away, so I was wondering would you please turn it down a bit?"The man hadn't said anything until about a minute passed. "Okay sure we can turn it down anyway my name is Levi" then he extended his hand out to shake mine. I felt a little awkward and didn't know what to do then as I was going to turn around and leave the door opened and I heard some people walk in. "Hey Levi what's going on?" said a voice I didn't know and then I turned around to see a someone who looks me age and is about 5'6."Who is that guy?" a girl behind the man asked who was about the same height. I looked at both of them and realized something odd about both of them, they were wearing a necklace with a colorful rock similar to mine then it finally hit me."E-e-eren? M-mi-mikasa? Is it really you?" I held back a sob as I walked toward them tears blurring my vision. They looked so different, Eren has multiple piercings and plugs but his hair was still the same style just slightly longer, Mikasa had tattoos and let her hair grow out. "Armin?!" they exclaimed and walked to me and hugged me and that's when the tears started to fall. We held each other as we were crying and fell to the floor and at that moment I was unable to speak my body was racked with sobs, my friends were here, they're alive, they're breathing."It's really you...its been so long...I've been so lonely without you both." I said between sobs."Okay, what the hell is going on and get the hell off my clean floor you brats!" Levi said. but I didn't care about what he said my only true friends were alive and with me.
