The boys did play Sheet Metal for me and it was just as bad as you'd imagine. After a few hours I realized I had left my friends back at school and they most likely didn't know where Eddie's trailer was...meaning they might think I'm dead and won't know where to look for me.
"Oh shit guys. We gotta go back to school before my friends crucify you."
Gareth hopped off Eddie's bed immediately and grabbed his keys off Eddie's nightstand.
"I almost forgot about that dude. We gotta go. Come on Edward let's fucking go, time is of the essence here man."
Gareth beckoned for Eddie to come with us and Eddie stood up with a confused look on his face as he followed us out of his room towards the front door.
"Wait why are we being crucified? What's been happening since I've been gone?"
I shook my head and pulled him out the door as Gareth jumped in the car and started the engine.
"Nothing. Well okay maybe something I guess. My friends kinda saw those marks on me and decided they wanted to tell Hellfire in front of the whole cafeteria. They weren't super loud," I assured him as we started driving towards school, "but it's possible we may have stirred something up. And if we did I'm really sorry. My friends are sweet to me but they're like...very afraid of you all after all the demonic rumors and shit."
Eddie looked at me with a look of horror and I grimaced.
"I know it sounds awful but it's not all that bad. My friends will understand once I get back and explain everything to them, I swear. They'll have to."
Eddie nodded anxiously and sat back in his seat. Gareth looked over at us in the rear view and shrugged halfheartedly.
"Not sure that your friends are gonna be so easily persuaded if we're being honest y/n. Especially that one douchebag Chris. He was ready to beat my ass in that classroom I'm pretty sure."
I grimaced again.
"Yeah...well to be fair he doesn't really understand why I trust you guys. I guess I don't even really understand my reasoning either honestly but I trust myself so I'm kinda hoping they can trust me too. Does that sound like wishful thinking?"
Gareth shrugged again and leaned his head back against the headrest.
"I mean if you guys were gonna do demonic cult shit and sacrifice me as the new girl you would've done it by now, right? That's gotta be proof against the cult leader rumors."
Eddie smirked and shook his head.
"Yeah I hate to break it to you y/n but Hawkins loves a good witch-hunt soooo it's probably safe to say we're in deep shit if your friends sounded the alarm."
I felt my shoulders deflate and sat back in my seat.
Well shit. Unless Tara convinced the other two not to freak out...
Hellfire is fucked.

The three of us burst into school just as the final bell rang and all three of us ran for the front office. The moment we entered, my eyes landed on all 3 of my friends sitting against the wall with the school security guard standing over them, mumbling something to the woman behind the front desk. I tapped the wall with my foot to get their attention and they all looked up in shock to see me standing there with Gareth and Eddie in tow. Chris made a move like he wanted to stand up but the security guard shot him a dirty look and Chris sat back down. He beckoned us over and the three of us hesitated before making our way over to the group as quietly as possible. We all settled in against the wall with me sitting closest to Chris and once we were sure the security guard hadn't noticed us, I whispered in Chris's ear.
"What's going on right now?"
Chris grimaced and shot a look over my shoulder at the two boys.
"We tried to go find you and Rawlings caught us before we could get out of the parking lot," he nodded at the guard who had stepped a few feet away to continue a very animated conversation with the school secretary.
"Oh shit. Yeah sorry about leaving y'all behind and everything but I didn't really feel like I'd be able to get anything productive done with you guys tagging along," I whispered.
Chris scoffed and looked over my shoulder again.
"Yeah? And how'd that productive conversation with the Geek Squad go if you don't mind me asking?"
I rolled my eyes at him and punched his shoulder.
"Stop it with the macho shit already dude. They're fine; actually I think I kinda like them. They're cool dudes."
Chris stared at me with a deeply disturbed look in his face and from behind him the twins spoke up.
"Wait so you like them both now," Tara asked.
I shot her a 'don't you fucking dare' look and she grinned mischievously at Kristin. Kristin wiggled her eyebrows at me and whispered,
"Oooh double trouble. Sounds like you've got your work cut out for you, y/n."
"Stop talking," I glared at them, feeling my face heat up. Chris noticed my cheeks getting pink and stared even harder at me.
"Y/n you better be fucking kidding."
I shook my head and nodded slightly over my shoulder at the boys who weren't paying attention thank god and then leaned in towards my friends.
"Let's work on busting you guys out of here and never speak of this again; capiche?"
The twins grinned widely suggesting that this would not, in fact, be the last time we talked about this but we didn't have much time before the secretary got bored of Mr. Rawlings and he turned his attention back to his captives.
I turned to the boys and whispered a plan to sneak everyone out. They both nodded and stood up, waltzing over to the front desk.
"Hey Ms. Biel! Can we ask you something important? I promise it'll only take a second," Eddie winked.
Ms. Biel cleared her throat and tucked her hair behind her ear, clearly flustered by the boys' boldness.
"Well...I suppose that would be alright. Mr. Rawlings could you excuse us for a moment?"
"Actually," Gareth jumped in, "We wanted to ask you both for your opinions. The more the merrier, right?"
Mr. Rawlings grumbled but leaned into the front desk and turned his attention towards the boys.
