CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO: founder's day

JENSEN GILBERT HAD GOTTEN DRESSED. Getting dressed in a 1860's soldier outfits.

"I look ridiculous," Jensen huffed, as he and Elena walked on the school property.

Elena laughed, shouldering him. "Stop that. You're going to mess it up. You look fine, Jensen," she smiled, pausing when she had noticed the Salvatore brothers looking over at her. She curtsied, smiling back at the two.

"John?! Is that even possible?" Elena asked.
"So, our uncle is actually our birth-dad?" Jensen asked.

"There is no proof, but he dated Isobel when she was a teenager and he was the one who brought her to your dad's office for the delivery." Stefan explained.

"My whole life I've never liked this man. I..." Elena paused in speaking.

"Sorry, I'm sorry. I just...I wanted to tell you before Damon dropped it on you on some typically inappropriate way."

"No, I'm happy that you told me, I just...I really hope that it's not true. What I am supposed to do? Do I just...confront him and say "are you my biological father?"" Elena asked.

"I hope not. I have no fucking clue what to say," Jensen muttered.

Stefan looked between the two. "I guess, when you're ready."

"I'm never gonna be ready. Stefan, I have enough problems with the family that I actually care about. Jeremy hates me, and why wouldn't he? My journal gave him every single reason to."

"He's just hurt, he's confused." Stefan says.

"No, he's right to be upset. You invaded his privacy." Jensen told his sister, he has been trying to think of a way to address the situation without it turning into a full blown argument that leads to 'to far' situations. Like, the time Jensen ignored her for practically an entire month.

Although, it that case, the two were much younger. And Jensen was being entirely dramatic. All Elena had done was taken a book that he had been reading, wanting to read it with him and talk about it with him. They were six.

Elena sighed. "He's never going to forgive me for Vicki, for taking away his memories, for lying to him."

"He's your brother, he'll forgive you. Just give him some time." Stefan told Elena.
