Fanfiction has always felt like it should be written in the summer. Perhaps it is because I remember indulging many bright and sunny days to participating in the Fanfic Bootcamp, or because I wrote the majority of my fanfiction novels during the summer. Either way, there is something that feels 'right' about writing fanfiction in the summer.
As of 2023, I will be conducting an annual feat where I will be challenging myself to write fanfiction-inspired short stories during the summer. Each story will be between 1,000 and 2,000 words and will have a deadline of a week (7 days.) The prompts will consist of a fandom and what the story is about. A week before this occurs, I will leave a chapter detailing the timeline and the prompts I will be producing stories. The challenge will take place from the 1st of June until the 31st of August, which always feel like summery months to me.
If anyone else would like to participate, feel free to do so. However, please give credit as I will be putting in a lot of time to designing this challenge each year.
I am also conducting a similar challenge in Spookerella, where I publish my horror-inspired short stories. However, this challenge will take place throughout October. If you like horror stories, especially those mixed with other genres, then I would recommend heading over to that compilation too.
Thank you for the support, and I hope you enjoy the stories to come!
