I knew I was different from others when I was about sixteen years old. I started having this heavy gut feeling when people lied to me. And when my best friend acted like she was fine when her boyfriend broke her heart, I feel like my heart got broke too. That's when I realized that I can read and feel people's emotions. When I was about seventeen or so I noticed that I can change people's emotions. I found that out when my mom was upset over something. I remembered that I closed eyes and and sighed. When I opened my eyes I stared into her eyes and saw the emotions changed in her eyes.
I don't know how I got these's powers since my parents aren't mad scientists or superheroes. I always had this thought that I was adopted, but my parents have ultrasound pictures when my mother was pregnant with me.
I started to get public attentions for my powers. There was this guy that made a bomb threat in this bank. I was actually inside the building when he made the threat. The cops did everything to talk the guy out of not blowing the building up. The cops even brought in professional negotiators to talk him, but the guy wouldn't budge.
For some strange reason, I had the courage to stand up and talked to the guy. I was able to change his emotions to show him what it would be like if he followed through with his plains. The guy actually decided to not to follow with his plan. With that the bomb squad disabled the bomb and the police took the guy into custody. People were astonished that a girl was abel to talk a mad man out of his plan, when professional negotiators failed.
After that incident, the police, FBI, and the CIA wanted me to join their team. Even though I loved criminal justice, I had to turn all the offers down because I was afraid they would find out my powers.

So I wanted to write and explain Charlotte's powers before I start writing the story. Plus it was just easier for me to explain everything. ALSO THIS STORY WILL HAVE TONS OF GRAMMAR MISTAKES!! I will try to do my best catch them all and fix them.
