Draco was in disarray, the first day of school was coming up in a couple of days and he still hadn't found his mate. He was starting to get desperate, clinging to any and every pull form his veela hoping that it would lead him to his mate, however nothing had come up. Thus putting him in the situation he's in now, talking to one Marvian Mcgonagall, informing her of his needs for the coming year and what should happen should he feel his mate on the train or at the castle. It was probably the most awkward conversan he's ever had; but hey, the things you do for the people you care about.

However even through all of this the thing that was throwing him threw the biggest loop was the complete lack of response through him mate bound. While th bound is very delicate he can still tell that his mate is alive and safe but that's about it. No hints about his location whatsoever. His father Lucius, is starting to worry about him, the stress of not knowing where his mate is was starting to affect his mood. He was snaping about the littlest of things and constantly stressed out.

Draco

----------

"Sev, please, I knows he's hear. Let me search for him"

"No, you have to wait for your father to get here."

"Please, I can feels him, he's so close."

Severus could practically feel this desperation pouring from draco. Thankfully only a couple minutes passed after this conversation; When Lucius Malfoy walked into the classroom they were taking shelter in.

"Son"

"Father, my I go now?"

"Remember to cloak yourself and return immediately to me, we do not want to scare them by you jumping them, but yes you may go."

"Of course... Thank you"

As soon as the words left Draco's mouth beautiful feathery white wings unfolded from his back and he shimmed out of view. Draco flew all the way to the great hall, hardly able to stop himself from flying past it in him rush to get to his mate. By now everyone was already sitting at there tables enjoying their food. He hoped his mate would be as excited as he his about finding him.

Deciding the best course of action was to walk by each of the tables individually he lowered himself to the ground. Starting with the Slytherin table draco slowly walked past his house mates, upon reaching the end with no mate pull Draco let out a sign of relief. Happy of once that he had not found is mate for that meant he wasn't going to have to live with one of them for the rest of his life. Continuing on to the next table which also didn't hold much appeal was the Hufflepuff table. Although hardworking and loyal, while they are idealists, leaving much to be desired. (My puffs please don't take offence it is just this class) Much like his walk down the previous row Draco didn't find anything or rather anyone.

His nerves started to twitch as he got closer to the 3rd table, the ravens. Draco was half way down the left side of the table when got a whiff of his mate. He immediately stopped but it was hard to pinpoint exactly where it came from. It seemed to be there one second but gone the next. This happened twice more during his trip around the ravenclaw table. Adrenalin pumped through his veins as he started to get restless,  knowing his mate was close but not being able to identify him was driving his senses up the wall. His instincts were screaming at him to find his mate and claim then before anyone else could to let them know that they were mine.

Where are they?!

Finally Draco stepped up to the head of the gryffindor table, it was loud and rowdy. Many of the people lacked acceptable table manners but this did not deter him from rushing quickly down the side of the table in hopes of identifying his mate.

Harry?!

Harry Potter?

How could this possible be true?

He will reject me immediately. NO I will not let him he is MINE!

Draco's jaw may very well have hit the floor, we don't know for sure as nobody can see him but that's beside the point.

After coming to the shocking realization of who his mate was Draco let his instincts take over. Thankfully the need to claim had subsided after seeing the large bags under Harry's eyes and the clear signs showing lack of sleep and propur food that immediately took president.  After years of tormenting and teasing Harry it was pretty easy from Draco to read his emotions, something that he took a large amount of pride in. At this moment though his mate seemed to be stressed and unfocused. The lecture the moodblo- muggle born was giving him did not seem to be helping in the slightest.

I need to help my mate, wait first I have to tell father, I wonder how Harry will react to this?

"Father... Father"

"I take it you found your mate then?"

"yes and you will never believe who it is"

"Well don't just stand there, tell us who I have to put up with for the next few months" drawled Severus from the corner of the room, the sarcasm was practically dripping from his mouth. However Draco could tell from the subtle way his drow creased to the slight crinkling of his left eye that he really did care and hopped that Draco would be happy with who is mate is.

"It's... Harry potter"

"Draco you are going to have to speak louder than that, I thought I taught you better than to go around mumbling"

Draco took in a large breath in before breathing out slowing and saying as loud as he dared, hoping it would lighten the blow.

 "Harry Potter"
