Cole's P. O. V
I took a shower, pull on my favorite jeans, my white Braves tee-shit with Kimbrel and the tomahawk on the front and my Georgia Southern hat. I put my favorite cologne on and grabbed my socks from the top dresser, my black boots from beside the bed and made my way into the living room to sit on the couch to put them on.. I was picking up the keys to my Chevy when my phone starting ringing so I pulled it out of my pocket and looked at the screen to see Monaco's name and face. I smiled, shook my head and slid my finger across the screen to answer as I headed for the front door..
"What the hell do you want Monaco?" I answers laughing. "Yes I'm on my way now if you'd give me a damn minute.. So who all is there.. the usual?" I asked him when I heard the sound of four wheelers in the background. "New girl huh? Pretty, long brown curly hair, nice ass and chest, confident, smart mouthed and a Dawgs fan huh.. I'll be there soon. Does Luke need me to pick up anything on my way?" I asked him and listened as he yelled the question to him. " Two cases of Fireball, two coolers full of ice and a jug of gas? Is that all? OK give me about twenty minutes and I'll be there. Is the back gate open? I'll just use it then. I'll come around by the pond we swim in. Tell Luke to keep that path clear.. Bye. "
Kiley's P. O. V
We came to a stop in a big open field where the guys and girls in the trucks had parked in a half circle with the headlights pointed at the pile of wood in a big concreted area. Black Mike was sitting on the dirt bike by what looked like a wooden hunting blind on a platform and yelled at Luke..
" Hey Luke, Cole wants to know if you need him to pick up anything on his way here. "
" Yeah tell him to grab two cases of Fireball, two coolers of ice to cool them in and a jug of gas to start this damn fire. " Luke answered and added. " Tell him to hurry his ass up too. "
" He said to keep the left path clear. He's comin through the back gate. " Black Mike informed him.
" Keith clear the left trail, Cole is using the back gate. " Luke yelled over at the guy close to the fire pit. "Hey Monaco climb up in the nest and turn on the tunes." He yelled over to Black Mike and I watched him climb the ladder to the wooden blind. After he disappear inside the door it was a matter of seconds that the speakers I had only then noticed came popping and cracking to life. The first song to play was Brantley Gilbert's "Bottom's Up" and as everyone began to move around I saw Luke kiss Caroline and walk over to one of the trucks to unload six coolers, fold up chairs and three fold up tables.
" Feel free to enjoy yourself any way you'd like Kilye. There are coolers full of just about any drink you'd like, the tables will be set up for drinking games and the food that Luke and Hunter will start cooking soon, there are fishing poles up in the the nest and you can ride the four wheel around the grounds. If you need to run to the potty take the four Wheeler up to the house and knock on the back door. Our house keeper Lara will let you in. If you have any questions or need me for any reason don't hesitate to come find me. I will introduce you to everyone as they arrive. " Caroline explained and as soon as she finished Hunter walked our way holding three open beers.
" Here ya are. " He said handing her a beer before looking over at me. "I don't think we were properly introduced.. I'm Hunter Jobes. " He smiled and handed me one of the other bottles.
" Hi Hunter I'm Kiley Martin. It's very nice to meet you. " I smiled back and reached out between us to shake his hand. Caroline smiled over at me and excused herself shooting me a wink over her shoulder once she was past Hunter. I gave her a sideways grin and shook my head.
" So by the nervous look on your face when Caroline brought you on the bus I will assume you are a fan of Luke's music. How are you doing with the nerves now? Are you feeling more at ease?" He asked making small talk.
" Yes I am a fan. I won't even tell you how many shows I've been to. " I grinned almost shyly. "My nerves are steady now I guess. " I laughed.
" Well that's good and I'm happy you enjoyed the show's enough to keep coming. So I thought I saw you waitressing at The Stage earlier tonight. How long have you worked there?" He asked.. Great just when I had started to forget about me job failures.
" Bout twenty or thirty minutes. But that was cut short after breaking Todd's "No talking to the acts" rule. He saw me talking to Luke's wife and fired me. She found me upset in the bathroom and took pity on me. That's how I ended up here tonight. " I confessed.
" Oh you were the girl she bitched him out over. Yeah he can be a real dick sometimes. " He said and my attention was drawn to two more four wheelers that came pulling in.
" Hey y'all, who's got the good shit?" I heard Brian Kelley yell as he climbed off of one followed by his wife Bcole.. So much for my nerves.. Oh shit! Was this even real life for me?
" Nice.. I see this is going to be a big night for you. " Hunter laughed at my opened mouth stare in their direction.
" Holy shit. " I whispered and watched Brian bit his bottom lip as he bounced his shoulders and started dancing to the song that had just then started. He began to mouth the words to Drake's "Tuesday"
" Who brought the party?.. Damn that was Florida Georgia Line. " Tyler Hubbard laughed walking over to join Brian in his jam.
I couldn't stop watching them.. Even as I tipped my beer to my lips to drink I watched from the corner of my eye. I had met them once briefly at a V. I. P meet and greet before a show in Knoxville but that had been a controlled environment.. tonight was a party at their friends place. There was no way in hell I would allow myself to fangirl though. Pull it together Kilye! I scolded myself. I seemed to be doing a lot of that tonight.
"Relax Kilye they are as normal as you and me." Hunter said drawing my attention back to him. "Would you care to dance?" He asked when another song started.
" Sure I'd love to. " I accepted knowing it would take my mind off of the fact that I was now standing in the mist of some of my all time favorite country music stars..
